100% correct!

You don't even have to ask to send a check ... you can just tell them you'll call back with a credit card number within that 14 day window.

The $200 the OP referred to is for packages. If you book a room-only reservation, the required deposit is one night's room rate + tax. The same time frame applies.

Sorry, wildeoscar, you'll have to take a Mulligan on this one!

Most TA's use Disney's policy for when the deposit is due.

I called around the first part of February and was given a quote for 2 ressies with park hopper and dinning. I explained to the cast member that I needed to discuss the rate with my party, and she offered to hold 2 ressies for 2 weeks without the deposit! I think it depends on the CM.

I think you are refering to a courtesy hold, which is the 14 day window on the other post as well, TA's use this also

No, it doesn't depend on the CM. What you described is exactly what I reported above ... that you have 14 days to pay the deposit.

I should clarify one exception to the aforementioned "14 day rule":

If you book airfare through Disney, 100% of the airfare cost must be paid IMMEDIATELY.
