Making reservations the day before

Our Disneyland trip from last summer was cancelled last minute, but we finally made plans to go again January 12-13, 2022. I understand we can only use the credits from our unused tickets at the ticket booths at the park, so we won't be able to actually purchase our tickets until the day before we are to enter the park. I know this is kind of a hard question to answer, but based on the dates we're going, how likely is it that we can get a reservation for Jan 12 and 13 if we purchase our tickets on Jan 11? Has anyone in the recent past bought tickets at the gate and got reservations for the next day? For what it's worth, from the various crowd calendars I've seen, Jan 12 and 13 seem to be relatively "uncrowded", also, we'll be staying at the Disneyland Hotel, not sure if that gives us any reservation advantages. Onsite guests have a different reservation bucket than everyone else, so that may increase your chances.
