I have been reading all day long about how to book & plan and costs etc... I think the best deal so far is staying off site. I understand you can not buy a disney dining pass if you stay offsite. Does anyone know if you can make reservations for restaurants(esp character meals) despite not staying onsite?

Any help would be appreciated!
thanks!!

For sure, you can. In fact you can do it online. No problem at all ..

Don't ever think that you cannot afford to stay onsite. There are so many benefits and cost savings with staying onsite. If you are flying into Orlando you won't need a car, just use magical express and you are taken care of the entire time. You get into the parks an hour early. You can get the dining plan. There are so many extras with staying onsite.
You can do it for so many different prices also and there always seems to be a discount on the go.
Right now there is kids stay and play free on offer as well as an offer for room only up to 40% off. Plus if you order a dvd or sign up to disney.com they may send you an email with a PIN number that offers you a special discount.
.......We love to stay onsite and wouldn't do it any other way.....

We are staying off site (Disney can not match the price for 7 of us), and have reservations for 8 sit down meals ( I love to eat), and best of all our TA made the reservations for us, so I didn't have to get up at 6am to do it.

Absolutely you can make dining reservations when you're staying off-site!! You can make reservations up to 180 ahead of time.

Here's the website you can use to make reservations: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/

If you want more info feel free to PM me (if you can, I think you might need a minimum number of posts) or reply in this thread.

You sure can. We did last year and it was no problem at all. We always choose to stay offsite because we don't want to Disney all the time and for us, it just works out better.

Sure can! Ok, I have to ask ... I used to know someone from a group called BOL (the Ledge) that had the same patticakes name... she was from GTA ... by any chance, is this the same person? Just curious if its an old friend... :goodvibes
