making reservations for disney dining plan restaurants

my daughter and family are going to pop century resort in september and have the disney dining plan, the only thing is, how do you make reservations for some of the restaurants, i know that there is a phone number to phone wdw direct but as she will be phoning from uk, she does not know how to contact anyone. can anyone please help? which restaurants or shows can anyone suggest taking 2 boys aged 4 & 10 years old? thank you

The number to book an Advance Dining Resevation is 001-407-939-3463.

I assume it's the same if using the DDP.

Character meals are very popular with families, the link below may give some advice for you.

When you say 'shows' do you mean which attractions at the parks are suitable for children of those ages?

Just call the US number using the international dialing code. I would call ASAP as a lot of people got free dining in september due to booking a special deal last year. Due to this a lot of places will be booked up already (as you can make reservations 180 days pror to your trip)

For character dining I highly recomend the garden grill at epcot. It features mickey, pluto, chip n dale. The restaurant revolves during the meal, and overlooks the living with the land ride. Its one of the quieter character meals, so as a result you get a lot of time with the characters.

Sci Fi diner at MGM's also fun, its themed to an old style drive in movies. You eat in cars watching old clips on the film screen. The whole place looks like your outside!

they'll probably enjoy some of the character meals (Chrystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom, Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Hotel, etc).

Other restaurants they probably would enjoy (that my kids love):
--50's Prime Time Cafe (in the MGM Studios theme park)
--The Whispering Canyon Cafe (in the Wilderness Lodge Resort)

meals can be booked 180 days in advance so you may want to call soon and be flexible with where and when you want to eat

you can book one table service meal for each day

I have had to ring the reservation line quite a few times this year as I needed to alter some of my reservations, I have come across a number that gives you calls to the US for only 1p per minute, which works out much cheaper,,, just call 08448612121, then follow the instructions.
