Making Reservations for 7

If I were to make reservations for a family of 7....

- Me
- DS (He'd just be over a year old.)
- My Mom
- My Dad
- Brother (He'd be 18)
- Brother (He'd be 13)
- Sister (She'd be 10)


.... Would I have to make TWO separate reservations since we'd be getting side by side rooms & the DDP? Thanks!

I think both rooms would fall under one reservation number if you made the reservation for both rooms. If the rooms are being reserved separately by different people, they can be "linked".

we did the DDP last year with a party of 7 and it was under one confirmation number, not sure if Disney's system has changed ,but either way you can note you are traveling together, we did get connecting rooms at Pop

We were at WDW last month with my family (me, DH, DD1 - 5yr, DD2 - 3yr, DS - 1yr, my parents and my youngest brother). As you can see we had a large party. My DH made reservations for several places to eat under one reservation at each place. We were told at several places though we may be seated at seperate tables, however; this never happened. We were always seated together and usually very promptly.

I'm really glad to hear that you sat together a lot of the time. We are going Thanksgiving week and there are 7 of us. My MIL was also told that we might have to be seated in two seperate groups, which will not be much fun sine DD, who is 2, will probably have a fit if she has to seperate from anyone! Maybe not, but I'd rather not have to find out!

MY family of 7 went to WDW last year and had a Great time. We had two rooms at POP and only needed one reservation. WE were on the DDP and always got seating for all seven of us. We had a great time at Sci fi we had one car but we all had room. I hope you have a great trip. Dave

You can see below my crew for Jan. I have had MANY conversations about all this with the 407 people.

For our hotel we all made our own reservations and then asked that they been in adjoining rooms. aka "linked"

Remember if one person in the room is on the DDP everyone in the room must be on the plan.

Everyone in your dining group does not need to be on the DDP.

The bill can be divided up to 4 times.

If you are budget conscious you can book one room on the DDP and one room not on the DDP and you can share food.

When you make your ADR's make sure you include your young son and request a high chair or their may not be space for him. At some restaurants they may tell you your party will be at 2 tables. This has never happened to us but we always show up early.

There are 7 of us (me, dh, ds13, ds4, ds2, dd12, dd4) and we had 2 rooms that were linked under 1 reservation number and we were all on the dining plan. We always sat together at restaurants and funny enough most rides can accomodate 3 people in one seat too so there was never an odd person. (other than the roller coasters, which are usually 2 seats side by side).

I know this doesnt answer your question, but given the people in your group, I recommend that you consider a 2 bedroom villa. That way everyone has a living room to hang out in while other people, like little ones are sleeping.
