Making Reservations B4 Resale Settles

I own 150 pts @ BWV and have just agreed to buy more at OKW. I have already used my 2004 and 2005 allocation at BWV and was interested in the OKW because they had some current 2004 points available. My problem is that I want to reserve a room for a few days in June, but the purchase probably won't settle 'til May.

Any thoughts on how I can lock up the ressie now while I wait for the resale points to settle? Thanks.

This was just discussed yesterday, same situation,,

if you buy from a resale the owner can make the ressies for you, but as soon as dvc see that the ownership was sold, they may cancel all the owners ressies.

you might be able to have your resale agent secure the ressies with dvc in connection with the resale

or

you can rent the points or in your case rent the ressies for cash since the member cannot transfer you any points yet until your in the dvc system.

or post a trade/rent on the board for a ressies and when you receive your points you will transfer your points to the dvc member who secured your ressies instead of a cash rent more of a trade for ressies for points.

only do this if dvc already refused to buy back the contract your your waitng for closeing .

just in case dvc buys back the contract and you will have to look for a new resale

whooops, just noticed you are a dvc member then you can have the points transfer to your account so you can make the ressies.

yep that is what i would do trade your new to be okw points for someone willing to trade their points now for your ressies in june except they may still have to make the ressies, so they can receive the transfer in points. you can only transfer out or in per use year.

and another suggestion make sure those okw points are transferable, that those point were never banked or borrowed
