making requests for value studio at AKV-my experience today

It was kind of ironic. When I said I wanted to put in a request, he didn't say anything. However, when I requested a savannah view, he said there weren't any savannah views in value studios. But when I told him I'd had one last year, that's when he admitted that it was really just that they wouldn't take a request for a savannah view in a value studio. So I asked if I could put in a room request, listing the specific room I had last year because I did love it-the view, the location, etc. No problem! I told him that I realize it's just a request, not a guarantee, but I asked and he put it down. So my experience-don't ask for the general "savannah view", but requesting a specific room is OK. Now I'm so glad that among the many pictures I take is a shot of the room number on the outside of the door, just so I have it for future referrence. It'll be interesting to see in September whether I do indeed get that room number or at least a room close by.

That's the point. He couldn't take a view request, but he could take a request for a specific room. I also hope I get it, but if not, I've spent many a trip in a pool view value studio and been very happy.

Yes, I just booked it today for 6 months and 2 days from now. It was an add-on to an existing trip to a value studio that I'd made at exactly 7 months. Then, I didn't have airline ressies, but now (thanks to Southwest) I do, so I added a day-and I'd originally forgotten to make requests. At exactly 7 months, I went on the waitlist, but it came thru within a few days. Then when I called back today to add on a day, no wait! Good luck to you!

The value studios are in the front, on both Giraffe Trail and Ostrich Trail. Value villas that are savannah view face Sunset Savannah.

Yes, no problem asking, but no I didn't get the room. I didn't even get near it-they gave me another pool view. So now I'm 0 for 3 on requesting specific rooms. I didn't get my specific room # request here, at BCV, or one time at HHI. Ironically, it was MS that suggested I request a specific room at HHI. When I requested top floor, water view, she suggested I request a specific room # because she said "It's easier for the CMs there", so I did. So I did, but we didn't get it. Now I've given them 3 different room #s for our next trip, but I have a feeling I won't get any of the 3. And you know, I'll still be very happy. I'm just curious as to whether anyone EVER gets a room reqquest for a particular room.
