Making payments with gift cards?

I’ve read a few discussions about this but wanted to clarify something. I have a package booked and would like to use some gift cards to pay a portion the balance. I know you can combine the gift cards, but I’d rather not. Can you make a payment online with a gift card once a week or so prior to making the final payment?

Yes! I've been doing that for the last 8 months. You just log into My Disney Experience and under "my plans" you can make small or large payments with gift cards. The main reason you might want to combine them and only "pay" with the same 1 gift card is if you had to cancel your trip the refund will go back to your gift cards. So if you use a lot of small ones then make sure you hang onto them.

So, keep ALL used GC . As mentioned above, if cxl'd money will go back on each Gc. Even if you don't have them anymore

We've paid our past 2-3 trips with gift cards! We've combined some and paid off the balance $25 a time with others; I think it's very user-friendly online.

And, as everybody else has said, keep all your used gift cards in case there's a refund. I track all my payments and balances from each gift card so I can keep track, in case we need to get a refund!

A related question, can you pay the initial deposit when you book the room with gift card? I'm an international traveler and really don't want to pay with my credit card because there's a lot of taxes and fees involved.

Yes! But you can only use one gift card for the deposit, so you'll have to combine cards to make sure you have enough for the deposit on a single card.
