Making Memories to Remember, We are going back in March AND September Update 9/16

Alrighty, few reminders, we were in the World March 31st through April 8th. We celebrated Av's 7th bday on Sun April 3rd We had earlier dates originally but were able to switch to when our Dis BFF's were going to be there. We stayed at Saratoga Springs, had the reg dining plans and use our AP's (for the last time :sad2:) Pics taken thia trip were with my new Nikon Coolpix camera. I loved the size and weight of the camera but not the pic quality. Will be bringing my DSLR in Sep for sure. I will provide comments on the events I remember and pics for times i don't :) Away we go

Thurs March 31st

Had a mid morning flight out of Phx that was delayed by 1.5 hours due to weather. Flight was good as always-girls are used to the trip and did great. Cay may have slept a little. Arrived in Orlando a little behind schedule but ran into weather there as well. Rode ME in the rain to SS. Got the Paddock section ground floor which was fine. We were right outside the carousel bus stop which was good since the Paddock one was closed-construction for the new cool pool going in. Dropped our stuff and headed to MK in the rain. When we arrived rain had let up a little but we walked down a very soggy Main Street. Made our way to The Plaza-Av's request. had a yummy dinner and an even yummier dessert. Rained had slowed to a drizzle after dinner so we made our way over to ride Buzz and the PeopleMover. After he headed to ride HM. When leaving HM I spied a kiddo standing alone between the front of the line and the pass under to FL. I watched quite a few people pass him when I realized he was crying. Made my way over, introduced myself and my kiddos-so I would seem legit and not some wierd lady (always tell my kiddos to look for a CM or a Mom with kids) Asked him who he was travelling with-he listed about 10 family members and said he had just got off HM. I told him we would stay right with him. As i was looking for a CM and older obviously emotional man came running up to us. Asked ( I think his name was David) if he knew him and he was relieved to say it was his Grampa!!! They hugged and GPa shared that they had all got off HM and headed to the bathroom and he must have got seperated. He thanked me profusely (sp) and the girls and I headed to the potty purselves. When leaving we saw the whole family and GPa pointed me out and I got thanks from many family members. As they walked away I noticed G"Pa holding David's hand  I know how scary it is to have ur kiddo wander away-C did at Epcot and HS. I was only a few feet behinf but that feeling u get in ur tummy when u don't see them.. So happy we were there to help. The rain must have scared some away cause we were able to walk right on to Peter Pan and Dumbo. Also rode Winnie the Pooh. We then made our way to the Hub for the new Memories Show and Wishes. After they were over we headed to the buses and home to SS. Girls fell asleep fairly quickly. Sorry no pics due to the rain.

Sounds like a good start to the day even though it rained :( We can't seem to escape the rain in Cincinnati!!!! I can't wait to see sunshine but feel like it will never come lol. I really need to try the Plaza sometime!!

Friday April 1st

Let the girls sleep in a llittle and then made our way to DHS. Had hoped to make RD but the bus got caught in a huge line of cars trying to turn left into DHS. So annoying. We were unable to obtain TSM FP with a good return time. We headed to VOTLM and checked out the 'new" Disney show

I say "new" casue all they really did was substitute one show for another.... After we caught some of the new DIsney Channel Rocks Show. I am sad my girls were not into HSM when they still had the show. Previously they had talked me into some cute head accessories-as pictured

We then wandered around the Street of America stopping for a special pic

Love ya Jordy

We then saw the Muppets and headed to lunch. We tried Mama Melrose for the first time. Avery and I enjoyed it very much, Cayley not so much. Our waiter was kind enough to refund me her TS credit for her uneaten meal. Here Av recieved her "best" birthday treat from Disney

And then caught the new parade. Not a fan.

We then made our way out of DHS and over to Epcot. We ate some snacks for dinner and rode some things. The highlight was the "water painter" for lack of a better term. I saw him setting up and he let the girls help

He had quite a crowd gathered around hime when he was done. So cool. The girls then decided they did not want to stay for Illuminations so we headed back to SS for the night. Needed a good nights sleep cause OUR BUDDIES were coming the next day!!

Bummer that it was raining your first day, but it sounds like you made the best of it! How was the Memories show? I'd love to see it, but I don't see myself getting to the parks this year, so I hope they keep it around.

ETA: You must have been posting your next update as I was posting! That cupcake that Avery got at MM was huge! Did it taste as good as it looked? How fun that the girls got to 'paint' at Epcot. I've watched those guys work before, it's really quite amazing what they can do.

We only had 2 days of rain so it was not bad at all. I thought the Memories Show was ok overall. I think it would more exciting if you had the chance of seeing yourself or someone you know up there. hats right, no park for you!!

Mary, they are getting so big. I love the birthday cupcake. I'm glad you and Av liked Mama Melrose; what didn't Cayley like about it? We're thinking of cancelling Sci Fi and going back to Mama Melrsoe because we've not been in two years.

I love Cayley posing with her paint brush. :goodvibes

fun update! Thank you for helping the little guy; how sad people were just walking by him and not offering to see why he was alone and crying! That is a very big fear of mine, Ashton still does not speak clearly, although we understand him, I normally have to translate for people that are not around little ones.

Avery bday treat looks AWESOME!!! great pictures and fun helping out the water painter dude...

Very cute.

So glad you were there to make that little boy feel comfortable until he got back with his family. We have run upon assorted lost children before. One little girl only spoke French.

Love those cute girls!! Looks like your trip got off to a great start!! A's birthday treat is as big as her cute little head. Looks so yummy!

Thanks for the update, Mary!

The girls are so cute! And that birthday cupcake is HUGE!! I love the fact that the brush artist let them pose with his brush and help! How nice is that!

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

Oh Mary, I can't believe how the girls have grown since we saw you in September:confused3 I love Avery's hair..it looks so cute on her.

Great updates! How awesome that you were there to help that little boy....that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach is awful isn't it? Grandpa sure sounded grateful!!

Oh, how scary! I was in tears just reading this. Good for you for noticing and helping!!! :goodvibes So glad he was easily and quickly reunited with his family.

That is quite the dessert! YUM!

Loved the pics of the girls helping with the water drawing - what a magical moment!

Hey looky, it's my abandoned PTR :scared1: Now that it is summer and things have calmed down a bit I thought I would try and bring it back to life. I know at least Kathy is reading :rotfl2: I will post more pics from our April trip but first I will do a Sep update.

We are offically booked Sep 24th thru Oct 3rd in a 2bd savanna view at Kidani with the grandparents To bad the girls now have a Fall break that is Oct 10-14-oh well. Thanks to SW having a big sale and my ever vigilant deal finder buddy Leanne, I booked all 6 tickets last night for a total of $1600 :banana:. No non stop on the way out so we are leaving Phx at 745a short layover in Nashville then arriving on Orlando at 425p. We are renting a car (minivan) for the forst time this trip and making a WalMart run. All the details of day 1 will be coming up soon.

Thanks for reading-if you still are :)

We have missed you, Mary! If you didn't have to deal with going out and back through security, we could meet you at the airport for a DIS hello. If you decide your layover is long enough that you'll get out of the security 'bubble', let us know.

We're driving down this summer, and when we drive, we always make a Walmart run, too. We get fruit for a reasonable price rather than pay 'a buck a banana' in the food court. :)

Raising kiddos and keeping a house running takes up a majority of my time too so I totally understand your absence.

Yay for being officially booked! Even though you know you are going back, it feels great to know it's booked. And, another yay for Leanne finding you a great deal on your airfare!
