I hope one of you budget people also like margaritas ;)

Is it cheaper to buy the ready-made mix, like the big bottles by Cuervo & chi-chis? They have the tequilla and everything else in them, including the triple-sec so you just mix with, or add ice....
Or is it cheaper to buy everything separate?

I haven't made them in ages and have no idea, so would really appreciate your input!

TIA :goodvibes

I'm sure making them yourself would be cheaper, but the initial cost will be more. You need tequila, roses lime juice, and triple sec - that's going to cost more than a bottle of premade margaritas. However, then you'll have the fixings for many more to come! :cool1:

There are some things I just won't sacrifice...I will live in a cardboard box before I drink Margaritas made with a mix.

I always prefer homemade vs bottled etc. But in a pinch when I don't feel like buying everything seperately I buy Jose's Golden Margaritas in the glass jug. In my opinion if you are going with premixed that's the best one!

Ok, sounds good. I know where to get tequila but how about the other stuff, same place?

Maybe i'll pick up a bottle, just in case. Approximately how many does one bottle make?

I think I have some left in a bottle at home. When I get home I'll check to see the actual liquid amount that way you can figure it out. I'm not sure how many glass we usually get out of one. I'll post tonight!!

Great, thank you!

Well my step Dad makes a killer Margarita mix, but it takes him hours to do it and it's a pretty pricey method. They are the BEST Margarita's tho. We have everything to make them ourselves but if time is short we open our bottle of Jose's mix and "dress it up" by adding frozen fruit. Jose's isn't a bad mix at all.

There's about 59 ounces in the jug of Golden Margaritas. I would guess you'd use about 6-8 ounces for a normal size margarita. So I would think 8-10 drinks depending on what size glass you use.:)

We buy this - Its good stuff :thumbsup2
Bout as close to a good homemade one as a mix can be.

Last weekend - i poured some of this in a blender with ice and some strawberries - Made a Delish Strawberry Margarita!! :cool1:
