Making it to "Breakfast

I'm hoping this is the right place to post this...I'll be arriving by plane to Orlando at 8:36am. I'll be renting a car. Does anyone know if I'd have enough time to check in at POR and make it to Chef Mickey's for a character breakfast at 11:15am (PS)? This is the first time my kids are going to WDW and I think it would be a great way to start our trip. Thanking you in advance for all your help. Tammy

I think it will be tight. It all depends on whether you land on time and if a gate is available. You have to assume it will take you about an hour to deplane, get your luggage, and then your rental car. After that, it is at least another half an hour from the airport to POR. You then have to check-in and get to the Contemporary from POR. That means taking a Disney bus to MK and hopping on the monorail to the Contemporary.
Any delays are really going to mess up your plans. If the plane is delayed or there are long lines at the car rental counter, you probably won't make it.

You could just check in after lunch. since you will have a car and if you are running late then just head straight to the contemporary in your rental car. You will be able to get a parking pass from the attendant. I would drive my rental car regardless to get from Resort to Resort. WDW transporation is good but taking two forms of transporation just to get to a meal just seems like too much trouble, especially if you can get there direct on your own in less than 10 minutes via your personal rental car.

Since you'll have a car, I'd just drive right to the CR. You can get a 3 hour parking pass. Have b/fast, then drive to Pop to check in.

At that early hour, your room probably won't be ready anyway.

The drive from MCO to CR is about 30 minutes.
