This is our first trip booking FP at the 60 day mark. (Or making FP ahead at all) our last trip was 12 years ago - help! I have read the sticky threads and have a few questions still.

I can only make selection for one park per day correct? In other words, I can't do 2 at MK in the morning and one at Epcot in the afternoon? Also, when going to make another FP in the park after using my originals, can that be in a different park?

Right now I am planning on doing FP for the park we are in at rope drop. Then I read it may be better to do it in your second park of the day? Thoughts? My thinking was our second park was more for nighttime shows and leisure, and our morning parks are more our main park for that particular day.

Is it easy to change FP selections later on? Will I be able to see if what I want is available BEFORE I get rid of another?

Are my chances good of getting what I want today, 60 days out? We are going late October.

And anything else you experts think I should know!
ThNks everyone!

Your first 3 FP must be in the same park. As far as first or second park of the day, that's really your preference. I tend to do mine around lunchtime, so whatever park I'm in at that time. You can change your FP selections later and you will be able to see what's available prior to making the change. Most FP are available post 60 days....the only tough ones really are 7DMT and FEA. FEA is the hardest right now. Your chances are better on the later days of your trip.

If the night is for relaxing, I would use my FPs for the first park if it is a busy day. After the first couple hour, headliner rides will have a long wait.

Here's what we do:

We get to the park at rope drop, and tour the way you did 12 years ago.
We book our FPs from about 10:30 until about 2 pm. There's lots of room in there for lunch and for some of the easier-to-get attractions.

Then we head back to the resort to swim/nap until dinner.
After dinner, we stay in the park closest to our ADR (we always get parkhoppers.) FPs aren't a big deal-- there's not that much time between dinner and fireworks, and plenty of things to do that don't require a huge wait on line.

You can book 1, 2, or 3 FPs for Park #1 and then book for Park #2 when you have used FP #1 in Park#1.

Please see the FP FAQ Addendum at the top of the FP forum. It has step by step directions.
