Making FP+ reservations while in Disney

Has anyone tried this? Is it possible to wait until you get there to make some FP+ reservations? I've already made our first 3 days reservations, but I hate to plan out so far. Not sure how I'm going to like this new way of doing FP. I'm kinda afraid that there won't be anything left if I wait.

I haven't used FP+ yet (trying it next week), but I would go ahead and make some now. You can always change them the day of if you need to. At least this way you will have SOME FP's if none are available the day of

I would plan ahead. We were at AK this morning at 9:30 and they had signs out that the safari and EE were at limited availability.

We did this week. We had originally planned them a month out, but the crowds and standby lines made us rethink our choices. We were able to get everything we wanted morning of. And our first was at 920. The only thing we couldn't get morning of was TSMM. We got it that day but not until early afternoon. We even changed parks mid transit and were able to switch on the monorail ride from MK to Epcot and got what we wanted.
