Ok, here's my problem, were in the process of deciding which resort we would like to stay at during our next trip. This will be our 3rd disney trip with the kids and the question is do we try Animal Kingdom Lodge or Yacht & Beach Club. We have a 4yo Girl and a 8 yo Boy and would like to know which is better for kids. This is difficult because each time we go we like to try a different Disney resort .

so what's everyones opinion

If your children love swimming, then I'd recommend BC. Stormalong Bay pool is one of the best at WDW. That'd be a big draw for the BC. Another plus for BC is the Cape May Cafe for breakfast. Excellent buffet with Minnie, Goofy and Chip n' Dale as the characters. Closest resort to Epcot and walking distance to the Boardwalk and MGM. Bus transportation is good, but keep in mind it is shared with other "Epcot resorts."

On the other hand, if your children love animals, you cannot beat a savannah-view room at AKL. Wake up to watch some animals heading off for a day in the "wild" would be a fantastic treat.

If I had to choose for this trip, I'd go with the BC. The pool is way cool; you're surrounded by so much to do and it's a wonderful, laid-back kind of resort. My DW and I stayed there last Nov. and loved it.

The AKL is so awesome. The room decore is wonderful and sitting on the balcony watching the animals is great. The pool is not spuer imaginative but it is big and has a slide and is pretty. If your kids will be happy and content watching the animals this is a great place to go. If your kids are more ancy and want to play and be on the go the Y+B Clubs are great because of the pool and there are surries to rent though you would be doing most of the work on one of those!!! The transport to Epcot and The Studios is more fun than the all buses at AKL. Transport to AK and MK would be similar at either one. There are more restaurantchoices available in the Epcot areas as well.

Hi!

We have made a similar decision for our trip in June and decided on AKL. We are going to save the Epcot resort for when the kids are a little older. Also, although SAB looked really fun the thought of trying to keep track of all the kids that huge pool made me nervous. I like how at AKL we can see the whole pool from one place (specifically a lounge chair :)). But then again, we have 4 kids not 2. Also, AKL seemed sooo unique. We take a "tropical" Florida beach vacation every year as well and wanted to try something different..don't think we'll be getting to Africa anytime soon :).

From what friends who have stayed there and from what I've read and researched they are both incredible, amazing resorts. You will be really happy with either but it will be a different atmosphere with each. Maybe a split stay if you're staying for a week or so?

Haven't stayed a BC or YC yet, but have stayed at ASM, CBR, Poly, WL, and AKL. My 7 year daughter says AKL is her favorite. My 9 year old son picks the WL. Our upcoming trip is BWI and GF. -HM
