Does anyone know if you can use your Disney Visa card to pay for your annual dues? Also does anyone know when the dues prices come out? This is our first year so we are new to all this!! Thanks!

yes, you can use it to pay your annual dues in full.

unless things have changed, you cannot use a credit card to pay dues monthly. that can only be done by setting up a draft from a US bank account.

You will get a little booklet in the mail in December with the proposed budget for each resort you own. You can use that information to estimate your dues bill for the next year. The actual amount may be a bit different if the estimated property tax paid in your 2014 dues turned out to be more than or less than the actual amount due, in which case the difference will be added to/subtracted from the dues owed for 2015.

At the annual condo association meeting in December, the board will vote on the budgets. You will get your dues bill at the end of Dec with a due date (for those paying as a lump sum) of Jan 15. They allow you to pay as late as Feb 15 without a penalty although I think if you have a reservation booked for some time between Jan 15 and Feb 15, you have to be paid in full prior to your check in date.

If you pay via monthly debit, your first payment is deducted from your bank account on Jan 15, then on the 1st of the month for the remaining 11 months.

Thanks!! We plan on paying them in full so I'm glad that we can do that!!

I always pay ours in full on the Disney Visa to get the points for cashing in a gift card when we go to Disney.

Does anyone know if you can then pay the disney credit card with disney gift cards?

I do this every year then pay off the card in full so I don't pay any interest. Love earning the points.

We buy gift cards with our disney visa from our local grocery store when they do extra fuel perks discounts on gas then we pay the dues with the gift cards. So we get the extra fuel perks plus the % of disney rewards dollars.

Good idea!

You can also buy Disney gift cards at Target with your red card and get a 5% discount. That is significant for us - like getting some maintenance fees paid for free.

Just FYI - Target only sells Disney gift cards in the $50 increments, so you may have to buy alot of gift cards. Member Accounting will only process 10 gift cards per day as payment on your maintenance fees, so it is a little more work.

We are also members at SAMs club and they have them discounted too, but I didn't know they only take 10 at a time. That's good info to have so that I make sure to call several days in advance for multiple uses!

Recently I called Member Accounting to apply some Disney VISA reward dollars to my dues balance. I pay by monthly debit and wanted to use reward dollars to reduce my remaining balance, something that I have done successfully in the past. I was told they have a new policy due to a change in their computer system. They will only allow you to use reward dollars to pay off the balance of one or more contracts in full. They will not apply reward dollars to pay down the balance due on a contract.

I protested that I had called them fairly recently to verify I could use reward dollars to pay down my balance and was told I could do so. Nothing was said about only being able to pay off a contract's balance in full. I was now at risk of losing the remaining balance on my rewards card since I would not be visiting Disney again for a while. Plus with this policy unless you have a huge number of reward dollars, you would have to wait until the end of the year when your balance is lower to do this. And I'm not sure whether you can transfer anything other than a whole dollar amount to the reward card. If so, since the dues balance is never a whole dollar amount it would be impossible to transfer the exact amount to the card that was needed to pay off a balance.

The MA CM went ahead and tried to do what I requested and it did work. She paid off one contract in full and applied the rest of my reward balance to another contract. I intend to keep a close eye on my dues balance for the rest of the year to check for potential issues cropping up later. I just wanted to warn people that something may have changed that could make it more difficult to use reward dollars at least and maybe gift cards as well to make partial payments towards annual dues. If you can only use up to 10 gift cards at a time when paying your dues, you would likely run into the same partial payment restriction that I was told about. Other MA CMs might not be as willing as the one I spoke to, to go ahead and try anyway.

I curious what's going to happen this year also. In the past I would call in January with my rewards card and it would recalcuate the monthly payment. This year the CM said I could only pay the payments in advance. so instead of lowering my payment, I just didn't have payments for a few months. the CM said to call in December before it calculates the payments and pay then. I'll give it a try in a few weeks. This was always the best use of my rewards but I may have to rethink.
