Making ADR's without knowing MNSSHP sched.

Hello all.

I am wondering how I can make my adr's without knowing when the MNSSHP will be? We will be down from Oct. 29-Nov. 4th. I know that the party will be on the 31st for sure(obviously ) but that is a night I would like to avoid if possible. What days does the party normally occur on, as I know it is not every night. Also, since we will be up LATE that night, it affects how I will plan other days as well, both eating and park touring.

How can I plan around this and still be successful. If I wait for the dates of the party to be posted, will I miss out on restaurants that I would like to dine at?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Tracy, and welcome to the DIS!

The 2005 schedule shows that in the time frame you are going your only choices will be the 30th and the 31st, so I would just go ahead and plan according to that, making adjustments when the actual dates are released.

Actually, there should be a party Sunday, Oct 29 and Tuesday, Oct 31. There usually isn't a party on Mondays.

I'd plan on going that Sunday and book your ADRs accordingly.

Surely now park hours are published 6 months in advance, the MNSSHP dates will be known at the beginning of April. If you are going 29th Oct, your 180 day window won't start till end of April

I waited till tickets were out because I wanted to go on an AP night. With each AP you can purchase 4 discounted tickets. What I saved on tickets almost payed for our dinner. I went on a Thursday the week before Halloween. There were no crowds on that night.

When I called to purchase my tickets I booked my dinner ADR.

The touringplans.com site lists these days for MNSSHP but they are probably guessing based on past years. I think I read something about them alternating Mondays & Thursdays for the weeknight party in years past. I'm using this for planning but realizing it could change. I hope they post the dates when they post the October hours. If tickets have traditionally gone on sale in May then that should still be plenty of time to set ADRs. (I hope!)

Well, certainly the first date was released when September hours were published. I can totally understand the pre-planning thing and why you wouldn't want to miss out but I feel sure that the dates will have been released by the time your 180-day window opens

Yes, they are definitely 'unofficial' guesses. They've even posted on the DIS saying just that.

The last time a party fell on a Monday was in 2000. They haven't since.

They have been Sun, Tues, Thurs, Fri since 2001. Each year they tend to add more parties though. There were very few in 2000 & 2001.

Each year the tickets go on sale a little earlier. April 30 was the earliest so far. May 1 was in 2004 and 2003 was the end of April. They used to go on sale in August/Sept before that!

Can't wait to buy mine! I'm just going to book my ADR for the night I plan on attending the party (Oct 26) and then buy my tickets when they go on sale, whichever comes first. No biggie.

That's my plan too, just book LTT for dinner on Thurs. Oct 19th and hope for the best. Hopefully, that will be a party night and I will already have my 5:30 dinner reservation!
