Making A Reservation & Then Changing...

Question: I have just found a 4 consecutive nights at the DVC resort that I was looking for, but its an earlier trip than we expected to go. It wouldn't be an issue, but it will mess us up for our AP's next year. My question is, if we book these 4 nights at the resort and then come August when I can TRY and book the VGF and its available...whats the best way to cancel the one and book the other...online or call MS? (I know I am taking the chance of losing my original dates booked at the current resort when trying to switch.)

I would call MS. The last thing you would want is a computer glitch trashing your plans. At least if you have a rep on the line, they can make sure everything goes smoothly.

I think it depends. I did it last year on-line, but I had the points to get the reservation that I wanted, confirmed the reservation and then cancelled the original reservation. If you don't have enough points to book the new reservation, then I think calling MS would be the best option.
