Making a reservation for someone else

A friend is helping her son book his onsite hotel reservation. She is concerned that if she makes the reservation in his name but uses her credit card to pay he will run into an issue at check in since it won't be on his own card. I assured her that as long as the reservation is in his name there won't be any problems.....unless I'm missing some potential glitch. Any insight?

You're correct. As long as his name is on the reservation, there won't be a problem with him checking in. Does her son have a credit card to put on file for purposes of charging to the room account?

I made a room only reservation last June for my son and his girlfriend using my card, and he had no problem at check in.

Thank you for confirming. Yes he does have a card for charging. I think she was just using her card to book the room for him as a favor so he wouldn't lose the room. He was at work and couldn't do it himself.
