I have been debating making a book/binder to carry our pins in. Has any one attempted this?

I was thinking of using a small self zipping binder, then using fabric covered cardboard. thoughts? Too much work? should I just order one? I saw some cute ones on ebay with Tink, but they run close to $30.

I think this would be possible! You can use thin, flexible cardboard (like poster board used for school projects) with fabric, or search the fabric store for thick, stiff fabric. You'd be amazed at the different types of fabric available. I could even see this working with thick felt. The ones that Disney sells have pretty flexible "pages."

I had all hand made books when I was big into trading. I found regular size notebooks like trapper keepers that were clear plastic with big black zippers. I made pages out of black felt. I sewed them and put velcor on the inside so they closed. then you had to open them to stick the pins in and the pin backs were inside the "envelope."
Alot of people just bought the plastic needlepoint canvas with the holes and used that for pages in their notebooks. I liked the idea and how it worked but I had already made the pages myself.
Deflinately get notebooiks or trapper keepers with zippers around the entire notebook. Pins do fall out of the pages and you will lose them when you carry them around.

I am trying to make one of these right now too. I love the idea of needlepoint canvas.
I was wondering if anyone had ideas for how they keep their special ones organized. My husband wants to keep his limited edition on the cardboard but right now they are just in a box and I would like to create something for those to go in too with clear pockets or something to protect them more.

I ussed a craft bag, it has a zipper all the way around it and it has 2 removable pages (velcro down the center) with zipped plastic pockets. I went to Hobby Lobby and got somethng that was with the felt pieces that is really thick and sturdy. I rounded the corners, sewed a piece of zelcro down the center and stuck it in between the zipper pages. Looks really nice and doesn't take away from the pins at all.
