i am 21 and just bought makeup i haven't worn any in couple years. I bought lancombe what brands are your favorite. I want to buy more but not sure which colors are best on someone very fair.

I like Bare Minerals. You can get it at Sephora and Ulta. They have light and fairly light colors that are great on fair skin. They blend real easy too. They are about $25 a pot I think but they last for a long time. Good luck.

Bare Escentuals, it actuallu helped my skin heal, my roscecia (sp?) is soooo much better since I switch from MAC to BE.

Moving on.... there are some brands I like for some products, and others I like for other products:

Eyeshadow - Nothing, and I mean NOTHING AT ALL beats TiGi (Bedhead hair brand) eyeshadow. Nothing. Its the most amazing eyeshadow on the planet, stays on all day - you can use a little, or a lot. Its a VERY buildable shadow. Its outstanding, IMO.
A close 2nd is MAC pigments

Mascara - Estee Lauder's "More than Mascara" - Fantastic! And Ive searched the world over (well, not really...but_
Close 2nd - Sebastian's Body Double Mascara

Face Makeup - Im on the mineral bandwagon as well, but everydayminerals.com is my choice
No 2nd choice

Blush - Anything (and everything) by NARS - especially Outlaw, Deep Throat & the O word that I feel will be filtered out.
Close 2nd - Too Faced - Sun Bunny (which I actually like to mix with above)

Liner - MAC's Liquid Gel Pots !!!
Close 2nd - Almay's Liquid Liner

Lipstick / Gloss - now this is where Im a floozy. Im not loyal. Ill put anything on these lips! CURRENTLY Im IN LOVE with TiGi's Dumb Blonde "Rockstar" lip gloss. The stuff is simply amazing, and matches anything - and it had a tingling peppermint scent, I love. Ive been using it since the beginning of March. Again....salon product.
I love all the MAC glosses - but also love the Loreal's too!

I love everything Chanel. I get a total makeover at the Chanel counter every few years and buy everything they put on my face! It's expensive, but the makeup lasts a long time.

It's my one splurge in life!

I have extremely sensitive skin and there's a lot I can't wear. Bare Escentuals makes my skin burn and turns it orange (yikes!), so I use Physician's Formula instead. I love it and it's half the price. I don't use it that often though, because I like to go minimal with makeup (both powder and cream foundations would be too much). For cream foundation, I can pretty much only use Mary Kay and Neutrogena. Everything else makes me break out...even the expensive stuff. Mary Kay is my favorite.

I do wear mascara and blush at times, but I'm not picky on brands. I don't wear lipstick, so I just stick to Neutrogena MoistureShine gloss.

Everyday Mineral Junkie Here!!!

I am an Everyday Minerals girl, too! I found mineral makeup to be the best for WDW- no melting or sweating off in the heat and humidity. I use their entire line- concealers, foundations, finishing powders, blush, eye shadows, and lip color. Their makeup brushes are wonderful, and they have nice body creams and soaps, too. They are very reasonably priced as well, and they have FREE sample kits, so you can find the right shades for you.

Since this is the budget board I'll share my *almost* free method of how I "buy" most of my make-up. For the last few years now I've beeen specifically buying my Clarins face sunscreeen and Clinique eye cream when they've been having those pormotions at Macy's where with each item over $20 or so you get a free gift. In my bathroom closet I have a collection of little pouches of make-up, some I haven't even opened yet!

I guess I'm cheap.


I do really pay for a lot though, I mostly buy Clinique.

MAC, Urban Decay, Stila, Ulta, Sugar, Smashbox, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, etc. They're all in the more expensive category, with the exception of Ulta, which is kind of in the middle, but one of my favourites. If you're looking for "drugstore" brands, try Rimmel, NYX, and Maybelline.

What kind of look are you going for? Do you want something wild, very subdued, eyeshadow colours that supposedly match your complexion best?

I have really pale skin, brown eyes, and brown & pink hair. I like to wear either really dark eye makeup, or really bright and wild. I like to go crazy with my eye makeup because that's really the only makeup that I wear.

Another Everyday Minerals girl here. I do use Maybelline mascara (Over Shiseido mascara primer) and Urban Decay Potion Primer under my eyeshadow. And I use any lip color that catches my eye. OTehr than that, though, I'm completely loyal to EM.
