Makeup for Disney!

I want to know more about the milk of magnesia! I usually keep it pretty natural at WDW so that I can slather on sunblock every seven minutes but would love a solution to the oil slick my face becomes during the humid DC summers.

I have schizo combination skin - extremely dry except a few small places where it is very oily - plus mild rosacea. Is the MoM really drying? Does it cause breakouts? Or does it just mattify? Setting sprays and primers usually make me itch so I'm always on the lookout for an alternative.

Can someone tell me the difference btw primer and BB cream? Not sure which one to use. I usually only wear powder or mix my foundation with sunscreen when at WDW.

I find that my makeup doesn't last me all day on a normal day. I have used Lancome Tient Idole 24 hour, but don't like the $50 price tag.

I am not much of a makeup person (I don't even really know how to apply eyeliner) and only wear foundation, powder, blush, mascara and lipstick.

My skin has changed alot in the last 5 years (I'm 34), and this weekend, I finally broke down and bought a serum (Vichy Liftactiv 10). I also bought Reversa Eyecare for my horrible dark circles and puffiness which is hereditary.

I am very fair, I can't use some foundations because they don't make them pale enough for me and breakout easily (if I sleep on my hand, I break out).

If I use a BB cream or primer (not sure which one), would it negate the serum?

Thanks for helping:goodvibes

A BB cream is similar to a tinted moisturizer but with a bit more coverage. I tend to mix mine half and half with the sunblock - lightens the color and makes it easier to apply. You can put powder over once it dries for a minute or two. I put mineral powder foundation over mine on the rare occasions that I need really fill coverage. But I usually just do a bit of concealer over the BB with no powder.

It shouldn't negate the serum as long as the serum is absorbed before you add the next layer.

I'm surprised you aren't familiar with Arbonne but you'll love it! Top quality at a mid range price and always available at a discount. PM me for website info and the discount. Treat yourself and check it out. The best Bronzer, Primer, Mineral Powder Foundation, Mattifying Powder, and so much more :)

I use Bare Minerals love the feeling of not wearing anything! At home ill use the foundation powder, mineral veil, eyeliner & mascara & Chanel lipstick or lipgloss & if we are going to dinner or out with friends or shopping for the day I may add eyeshadow.

At WDW I only use foundation powder, mineral veil & maybe a lipgloss. If we come back to resort & swim & shower before dinner ADR I may add eyeliner & mascara..

I don't have an issue with burning since I go to tanning beds all summer and we go in Sept so I don't use sunscreen..

I wear make up everyday at home so hot or not I wear make up while on vacation. I do tone it down a bit while in the parks through.

Moisturizer- Purpose with SPF 15
Foundation- in the parks I wear a bb cream or tinted moisturizer,( at home Revlon Color Stay foundation)
Powder- Stay Matte in translucent by Rimmel
Bronzer-NYC in Sunny
Blush-usually skip in the parks and just wear some bronzer, but I have Mac blush in Dollymix
Eye prime-E.L.F
Eyeshadow-Urban Decay Naked Palette
Eyeliner- Revlon Colorstay pencil (at home I wear liquid)
Mascara -Maybelline Full N Soft waterproof (at home I mix Telescopic and The Falsies)
Lips- Revlon Lip Butter or the Revlon lip stain balm

I dont really change my make up, up for vacation. Other than I add Sunblock on before I put on my foundation. Waterproof eyeliner and mascara are a must . I wear my everyday look. If it takes more than 10 minutes its too long. But that's me most days.

I'm a blue lizard sunblock, mascara, and lip gloss girl and wear that most days (unless we are doing something I need to apply more make up for), so for Disney I do my usual. I can't imagine being in the heat at a theme park wearing a full face of make up.

I'm a bare mineral girl for foundation. Then it's eyeliner (i like sephoras own as well as tarte) and a lot of mascara. My current fav among drugstore brands is the cover girl lash blast. I add lip gloss and I'm good. For skin care I use boring old Clinique liquid for combo skin w the clarsonic and Laura mercier mega moisturizer w SPF 30.

I have seen several people mention the brand nyx. I'm not far molar with that brand. Where do I find it?

Ok first off...GREAT THREAD!!! :thumbsup2

I made a long list of stuff to try. :cool1:

One item I love is a liquid liner by Stila. It is amazing and waterproof. That is the only one I will use. It's around $20 and it lasts a pretty long time considering I wear it everyday.

I was there in October & this makeup worked well for me:

LaRouch Posay Anthelios 45spf face sunscreen
Face Atelier ultra fdtn
Laura mercier translucent powder
Smashbox softlight shimmer highlighter for cheeks
Smashbox starlit e/s
sephora liquid liner
Lancome booster
Maybelline mega plush mascara
Dior peach l/g

:) I wore sunscreen all over as well & used a good cleanser, toner every night.

I have rosacea (sp?) so I need something to cover up the red. I've had good luck with the Bare Minerals in the summer and just my regular make up during non-melty times. It stays on pretty well for my needs.

My make up regiment is just foundation, powder and mascara. I hardly ever wear anything on my lips, mainly because I forget to put it on!

I love mario badescu healing cream (it is green & calms down red skin) :)

I saw a lot of recommendations for oily skin. Any tips for dry skin?

I normally only apply concealer. However, my skin is dry so everything that goes on my face usually ends up dry and flakey. I've tried different types of moisturizer but no luck. Even though my skin is dry, when I apply sunscreen for face (Banana Boat), it makes my face very oily and concealer would slip and slide on my skin (15-30 min between application). Have also tried Neutrogena Dry Touch suncreen but it leaves my face white and ghostly.

I've never been able to apply makeup AND sunscreen together. Please help!
