Makeup for Disney!

Some areas of the country still run the old levels program, where each $50 you spend in the quarter bumps you up a level to receive your choice of a certain grouping of products for free.

Thanks! Had never heard of Ulta until I read this thread. Our Sephora is in Penney's here in the Central Valley of California.

I'm always trying to find the perfect mascara. Just tried CoverGirl in the orange tube, waterproof, and hate it. Raccoon eyes by noon. Can't imagine using it in Aug at DW. I did try Revlon colorstay and so far so good. '

I bought a lip butter today and while I like the color, it doesn't last very long. I will probably use it over one of the lip stains I have.

I need to stop reading all these tips; I'm going to go broke before our trip!

Thanks for the Ink! Their website is a little overwhelming with all their products!
Had to return my Smashbox CC cream in light/medium - orangey and dried out my mid-fifties face! :)

Yeah the store is overwhelming at times too if you don't know what you're looking for. The CC cream does darken throughout the day as it oxidizes so I went with the light one :)

Ulta has rotating coupons you can get online....$3.50 off one item, 20% off one item, 20% off entire purchase...

I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist SPF 70. The spray fixes well and you can apply it even with make up on.

Are you spraying sunscreen on your face? Does that get in your eyes? I'm always looking for ways to reapply sunscreen over my makeup but I'm wondering how that works with a spray.

My favorite macara for WDW (and now everyday too) - Estee Lauder Double Wear in black.

Last time I bought it, the lady at the counter said she has lots of customers who use other makeup brands but still use Estee Lauder for this mascara.

Stays all day and comes off nicely with clinique take the day away makeup remover!

Cover Girl mascara never worked for me either. Some people love it, but it makes raccoon eyes on me. My go-to mascara for long lasting, stays all day, doesn't run at all is L'Oreal Double Extend Waterproof mascara. It is a two step process, but it lasts all day. But it has to be the waterproof, the regular doesn't stay as well.

Is it changing your eye color? My eye doctor would not prescribe it to me because he said I have too pretty of a eye color and he will not risk letting me do something to change them. I thought I heard there is something else out there that is non Rx and helps them grow but does not cause the change in eye color. I guess I will wait and see how I like these...I say this as I rub my eyes. That will be so hard for me bc I do it every evening, lol.

I have blue eyes and have been using Latisse. The doctor who prescribed for me (and 2 others I have talked to) told me that the eye color change has only occurred in patients using it for glaucoma--for that treatment, you drop it right into the eye. They told me there have been no reported cases of color change when used cosmetically, where you apply with a brush outside the eye.

I have fair skin that burns almost immediately in direct sunlight. At home, I avoid burning by using my Lancôme daytime moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 15, wearing Bare Minerals foundation on top with broad spectrum SPF 15, plus remaining makeup and translucent powder.

At Disney, I use an SPF 75 on just some dark spots on my forehead and cheeks that get darker if the sun touches them and then use Lancôme Bienfait broad spectrum UV 50+ sunscreen for face all over. I then follow up with my moisturizer, foundation, makeup, and powder, as normal. Because I set everything with Model In a Bottle, nothing moves all day and no re-application is necessary. I don't get any burn all day long. We are commando park goers, in the parks from open to close most every day at Disney. I don't even bring powder for touch ups; just Lancôme Rouge In Love 6-hour wear lipstick for after eating.

It sure is but you get used to it when you find your way around :)

I have had good luck with the covergirl lastblast fusion waterproof mascara. Its in the purple tube. It hasn't smudged on me. I also like the Covergirl Clump Crusher the new one in the green tube. HTH

I always spray my face when I have make-up on. I just tightly close my eyes and ask for a friend/family member to spray it for me. Just move away from the mist when they are done and keep your eyes closed for a few moments and you won't have a problem.

I just stick to some tinted foundation, colored lip balm with an spf, and waterproof mascara.

I think no matter what you use, it won't last through a whole day in the parks. And half smeared on makeup looks a bit crazy. And I don't have the patience to stop and re-apply makeup multiple times when I'm in the parks.

if i'm there during the hot months, then i'm the same. i may use a little waterproof eyeliner.

if i'm there during the "cooler" months, i'll wear a little more make-up, but still nothing heavy.

Strange how things work out that way huh? I love Cover Girl mascara :) I usually use the regular formula in Very Black. Gonna have to get the waterproof for WDW though :)

It is pretty funny how some things work for some but not for others. I have tried just about every Cover Girl formula, purple tube, orange tube, white tube, etc. All of them gave me raccoon eyes! I am glad it works for you. :)

I still think the best is the pink n green bottle!

I find it funny that these two posts were right next to each other, because the mascara that a lot of people SWEAR by (the Great Lash Mascara), I can't STAND! For me at least, it clumps on my lashes so bad, and it gives me the worst raccoon eyes possible. I even tried the waterproof kind and gave it a second chance, but nope. Still just as bad for me. :headache:

The best mascaras I've had were ones I can't afford to get all the time. Chanel had sent me a sample of their "Inimitable" mascara when it first came out, and I loved it so much I used it every day, even if I wasn't gonna go anywhere. Sadly when I ran out and went to see how much the full version was, and saw it was around $30, I almost cried. Boooooo!

The second one was Opulash from MAC. That one worked so well for me, never wore off, never clumped, all that good stuff. Too bad it's still a bit too much for me at around $16. Not nearly as bad as Chanel, but still pricey. MAC has a "Haute & Naughty Lash" mascara I wanna try, and even though that's in the same price range, has great reviews, so we'll see. :thumbsup2

Oh, and you probably have never seen me around here before, but I love makeup like crazy, and one thing I use when I'm in the parks is not necessarily makeup, but it helps save it from the hot FL sun. It's these 24/7 blotting sheets, and they have various kinds. One is rose scented, one is lavender scented, one is unpowdered/unscented, etc etc. If it gets hot to the point that I start sweating, I just pull one of them out and dab it on my face, and POOF, sweat is gone, and makeup is still there. This saved me when I last went in 2010 for Memorial Day weekend. It was pretty brutal. :faint:

I love MAC Haute & Naughty. It really works well. The price does start to add up. I feel like the tube dries out more than other kinds. The Back2Mac program helps offset the cost somewhat. Right now I am using Maybelline Rocket Volume. I think the results are similar to MAC.

I'm in WDW now!!!! Yippee!!! I will say I contributed to this thread w/what makeup I will bring and wear to WDW! Well I never took any of it out of my makeup bag the whole trip! It's to darn hot! I wore big sunglasses & used some self tanner, some gloss but the lash blast and BB cream stayed in the suitcase! I will mention I did see some women who had it all together and looked fab w/their mascara, foundation, eyeliner... The works! Just not for me.
