I have been recently using this product:

http://www.sephora.com/black-label-detox-bb-beauty-balm-P374568

(Dr.Jart's Detox BB cream)

Here are the "main" ingredients.. Are they safe? I am really worried about the ingredient called "arbutin".
1.5 oz

-Titanium Dioxide 9.533%
-Zinc Oxide 3.840%
-Green Tea and Aloe Vera: Soothe.
-Caviar: Purifies and regenerates.
-Arbutin: Brightens dark marks and hyperpigmentation.
-Portulaca Oleracea Extract: Soothes.

Any ingredients to steer clear of?:)

I had a very cautious OB and was never advised to avoid any make up products/make up ingredients. The worst I have ever heard in regards to make up or cosmetic products during pregnancy is that you might have a reaction to something while pregnant that you handled fine when not pregnant..but that is true of just about anything you encounter while pregnant. I wouldn't worry about it.

I was in the same boat. My doctor wasn't really concerned with any of my make up products. In fact, she was much more concerned with what went IN my body than what went ON it. Basically, though, she told me not to try any new products because skin is often more sensitive during pregnancy.

And congratulations!pixiedust:

I honestly never heard of such a thing, to be cautious of makeup during pregnancy. Really, never. I used what i wanted with my son and didnt have a problem. Out of all my prego friends, not one had a reaction to makeup either. :confused3

I don't see the issue with makeup choices. Never once heard that you had to avoid any.

Same here. VERY cautious - she even specified that the only hair color she tolerated for her patients was henna. She never said anything about makeup though. I wouldn't worry about it.

I would avoid anything with retinol. I don't think it's in makeup, but it is in some skin treatments. It's similar to Retin-A, which is not recommended during pregnancy.
