Anyone else out there counting the days until school STARTS BACK!!!! For two days DD & DS have fought non-stop!!! They're driving me CRAZY!!!! Maybe I should just get up in the morning & start:drinking1 :teeth: I'm just kidding - won't really start drinking until after lunch:teeth:

This is why DD is an only child! I had vivid memories of my younger sister and I constantly bickering.

Here's one of the things that I did with my daughter and my nephew. It worked sometimes, other times it didn't.

I would sit them down and tell them to stop fighting, why were they fighting and all that.
Then when all I would get was, "I don't know", I would tell them, that they had to fight quietly from then on. If it was loud enough for me to hear, I would make them hug and give them chores to do. I didn't want to hear it anymore. It did pretty well.

don't worry - it doesn't last long!

my younger brother and I fighted up until about middle school...then we just got smart about it. (doing gross things to each other like licking their food, hiding all their clean underwear...heheh...the best was if the two of us were downstairs and our parents were upstairs he would slap his hands together and yell "OOOOWWWW!!! Mom!! She hit me!" hehehe)

and by that time he could sit on me and hurt me. heheheh

now we're really close. :)

I can relate!!! my ds9 and 6 have fought non-stop since school has been out. I started telling them that everytime i hear them fight they have to give me a quarter--and if they have no money they have to work the quarter off! Worked like a charm!!!;)
I don't have any idea how my mom did it with 5 of us--i would go crazy i think!!!

When my two start fighting I send them to their rooms and make them shut the door. Neither one can stand being alone so they eventually "sneak" into one or the other's room and quietly start playing together.

Same here but it wasn't until I was around 25 before I stopped fighting with my older sister. :p :p :p

oh my! I feel your pain. I was on the phone a while ago and had to stop at least 4 times to threaten my children with physical death if they didn't stop chasing/hitting/bothering/making faces at/kicking (well, you get the picture) each other.

My 4 boys were all born within 5 years, so they're close in age and not picky at all as to which brother they fight with. About 60% of the time they get along pretty well, but what I want to know is why the other 40% seems to all happen on the same day!

How about we'll just tell ourselves that it builds character. (Now as to whether it builds our character or the kids', I don't know)
