Oh Dayna, I am SO jealous!! I SO want to go the the AK Lodge, but it's just not in the budget right now:sad2: Someday...

We are extending too and have booked into Pop Century. Yeah, not the Lodge:sad1: , but I think the kids will still love it.

Looking forward to meeting you. You need to get some pictures posted so I can keep an eye out for you!!

Pop Century is VERY fun for the kids, even us OLD kids, since it takes us back to our youth, no matter which decade that was!

Did you know you can visit animal Kingdom Lodge even though you're not staying there? Just take a bus from any park, or drive over and tell the gate guard you want to look around. Not quite the same as staying there, but you'll get a feel for it. Late afternoon, maybe for a meal, is a good time. The food court is very interesting.

Where ever you stay, you can't help but have a great time!

I have a question on the hopper passes and the other passes, are their dates of them? We have to purchase all the passes for my oldest son, and my sister needs to get hers too, and I am not sure if ours will have certain dates on them.

No dates, but they have to be used within 14 days of first visit or the days are lost.

Just found out from our MAW rep ... the delay is because MAW is still waiting on the medical release from our doctor. (Renna isn't in treatment right now.) Grr! We'll be calling and harassing him on Monday! :hyper:

That's a great idea...it would be lots of fun to go look around there!!

We extended our upcoming trip by two days:thumbsup2 . The MAW coordinator just made our return flight for the 17th instead of the 15th. I have made all of our arrangements for those days. I wanted to spend a day just at GKTW and a day with my Grandpa who lives nearby. I was also considering POP and called to reserve but the room was gonna be 130 one night and 150 another night. We are going to be done with the Disney parks by then so I checked the DISboards for other options. What I ended up doing was using Priceline for the first time and booking a four star resort for $80 a night -- total of $190. It looks beautiful although not magical. Over 100 dollars cheaper and it is only about five miles away!! It also has a huge lazy river which I intend on hopping my big booty into at least once :rotfl2: !!! Hope this helps you guys!!

My daughter, Mary Payton, suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Late Infantile Batten Disease. We tried to go on her wish trip last Spring, but never could get dates worked out with MAW....we applied again and we will be going Feb. 28-March 6, 2009. We are so excited to take her to Disney again. We went on our own trip last Spring after MAW didn't work out and I have never seen her so happy. I can't wait to see those smiles again. I really enjoy reading through these boards and learning the ropes.

Wow, so many of us will be there the same time! We will be at GKTW Feb 24-March 3. So glad it is working out for you this year.

Welcome! I am "Mary" too! Of course, we call me Maroo around here...

Welcome to our little community! I hope you will start a pre-trip report! :) You can ask any questions that you come up with on this thread! :)

Awesome deal! I am glad you are going to get some extra days! And more TR info for us to read! Woo Hoo!!

I did a pretrip report!!

Nichole, come see us at AKL while we are there!

Love the pre-trip report! Way to go and get it out there! :)

We ate at the AKL when we were there...Boma. It was a GREAT breakfast! And a really cool atmosphere!

I think we will miss you we fly out on the 28th

I believe there is still the no expiration date option as well.

I hope that he gets that together soon! Good luck on getting your wish trip scheduled. You will love it!

We'll see you, we leave the 1st from GKTW, but will be at the Animal Kingdom until the 3ed! :)

Can't wait to meet Mary Payton! I read up on Batten, it seems like such a difficult journey. Our good friend Noah has Hurlers, which while not the same, has a similar-ish issues. It has been a difficult journey for all.

How old is Mary Payton now? What is she most excited about?

I'm off to bed after the agony of defeat from the Super Bowl.

:) Tommy has clinic tomorrow, Charlie Tuesday and Kate Wednesday. Fun week ahead.

Hey guys I just got a nice bit of advice on GKTW that I don't think has been shared here yet.

Take your own towels!
It seems that the towels they provide for showers and such are not too thick or large. Kind of like the old middle school gym towels is how they put it. So I know I will be packing my own towels because I can only remember getting "popped" with those old towels.

They also said "Take a large extra bag" You are coming home with lot's of stuff!

Okay.. I put over 100 pics set to upload to photobuck this am and left for work.. thinking I would start my TR! Got home and it said it was done and only about 10 uploaded.. UGH!!! and of course there were of the last days not the first, so no TR from me yet!

Oh no!! They didn't load in Photobucket?!?!

That totally stinks! Cause I can't wait!!!!! :)

I hope you have better luck in the future!

Hi everyone. I'm new to the disboards.

I'm finding so many wonderful stories here. Thanks for the links to these wonderful stories and helpful hints!:thumbsup2

We weren't able to extend our MAW trip. :sad2: At least we'll be going! We had to cancel because DD got sick 2 days before we were supposed to go. That's ok. We didn't want to be there for freezing weather anyway - we could do that at home!

We'll be there March 24-29th.

Yeah!! Welcome to the Wish Trippers Unite thread! :wave2:

I am glad you are enjoying all of the TR's! We didn't get to extend ours either...and we still had a great time! :)

Are you planning on starting a pre-trip report?
