A huge thank you to everyone who has posted about their MAW trip. My daughter made her wish at the start of January for a trip to WDW. We're waiting to hear back.

The only problem is that I'm spending wayyyy too much time on the computer. But I can't resist reading all of your stories!

Joanna, Mom of Marenna

Where in Texas are you, two of us are going out of the North Texas office.

just wondering how big the rental strollers are. Clint does fine most of the time but he wears out easily. I think he may be too big but not sure. He's about 45 inches tall and 60 lbs. I had bought a Maclaren Volo, umbrella stroller up to 90lbs I think, when his leg was broke. I will have to dig it out and see if he still fits. I don't think he will. Really I was trying to find out about the rental sizes if anyone has used one recently.

Sorry no caffeine yet:coffee:

They aren't anywhere as wide or tall as last time, the single I don't think he would be comfy in at all. The double possibly. Since they are not as tall, the bigger kids I notice can't sit back and have the shade closed properly usually since it squishes on their heads. If it isn't something that he would be in all day then it might be okay. Dallas is 46 inches but weighs about 46 lbs, we have Mac Quest and he still fits fine. He is getting too tall for it and it is harder to push now, but nothing like most strollers.

We're in Houston. My daughter (3 1/2) was treated (cancer, twice) at Texas Children's Hospital. She's NED (No Evidence of Disease) and off-treatment since November. I'm loving seeing the hair grow back! Right now, she looks like a little Buddhist nun. :rotfl:

Aw...

First, bless your heart! Both of you...and your whole family...cancer once is hard to deal with...but twice! Wow...:sad2:

I am so thankful she is NED!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

But, you are so teasing me! I want pictures!!!! :rotfl:

Of course, seriously, only if you are comfortable with that. I know lots of people don't want pics of their kids (or even themselves) out on the internet. But...if you are comfortable...and have time...we would love to "meet" your family!! :)

You don't have dates, yet, right?

Oh, twist my arm ... (oops, looks like I can't post pics yet ... well, her caringbridge site is caringbridge.org/visit/littlewarrior )

She's a monkey! I'll do the long story when I set up a pre-Trip report, but the Cliff's Notes: She's my last of 4, (ages 3-6-9-12); she was diagnosed with bilateral Wilms' Tumor when she was 7 months, then had a recurrence right before her 3rd birthday. She has scans in February.

No dates yet. We told them to take March out as an option, because we thought it might be too crazy with spring breakers -- don't know if that was the right thing to do.

Here are the general crowd levels for some dates...

March 1 - 12 are quite low crowds...
March 13 - April 4 are moderate crowds...
April 5 - 12 are high crowds (9/10)

By May 1, the crowds sort of go from 5 to 8 and back to 5 on a day by day basis.

So, March, at least early March, might actually be really good.

But, can you take your kids out of school? They seem young enough to take them out for a special Wish Trip.

You do get to skip most lines...so the crowds may not be a huge consideration. ??

I have been sending a spreadsheet to families with the GKTW activities, parades/fireworks, and crowd calendar information to help plan which day to do which park...so that might help if you end up in a crowded month. Let me know if you get dates and I can send you this! (I will do it for any Wish Family...totally free!)

Well the doctor signed the paperwork..so now we just need to wait for MAW to call. It is exciting..I do think she is leaning to Hawaii...not sure though it changes by the day.

We are stopping her chemo early I think, she had another allergic reaction to her chemo...which is very scary...but she is fine so that is all that matters..it will be weird now not to have to take her to chemo every week...

Now hopefully we can plan a fun trip...sooner then we had planned...

Would you mind sending me a spreadsheet? Our dates are March 27 to April 2nd. Thanks!!!:flower3:

Thanks, Maroo! As soon as we know the dates, I'd love that.

Yeah, I'm not trying to schedule this around the kids' school schedules. I figure, once in a lifetime thing.

By the way, I loved reading about Lauren's Wish trip. Sounds like she managed to have fun, "in spite of"!

No...no one will know what the splints are for. They could be for muscle tone or control or something like that. They won't know the difference. And if they do ask...which I so highly doubt!...then you could tell them. Or not...up to you. But no one is going to ask.

I hope Ciara will be so distracted by the wonderful things at Disney that she won't feel distressed. Do crowds bother her? Has she been to Disney before?

I have just heard so many "pixie dust" stories of characters calming special needs children, etc. But I guess the opposite could occur if they are scared or something?

Good thought on the No-nos. Thanks. Ciara has never been to WDW and I'm not sure about crowds. She loves being out and about, music and is a people watcher so my fingers are crossed. Karen

Has anyone heard from Misty, Hotmamac lately? I just get worried when I don't see any posts for a while!

Wow, the pictures of the Big Give for both Clint and Noah are wonderful. There truly is some amazing people on this board. Seeing all the pictures of the kids opening the gifts bring tears to my eyes. Please continue to share them. Thank you!!!

Not at all!! I will PM you, because I need a little bit of information from you about which parks you prefer, which night activities (Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic, etc) and which GKTW activities you definitely want to try to make it to...:)

Thank you...I have really enjoyed writing that wish TR...so much so, that I really don't want it to end! But we are planning another trip...so as soon as I can start that Pre-TR...THEN...maybe I will feel better about ending our other one. :)

We didn't schedule around school either. Lauren did have a real hard time catching up and said she will never miss that much school again...ever! :) But, your kids are young enough, it should not be as big of a thing.

And it is definitely once in a lifetime!!! :)

Once you get your dates, you can post them here (and we would LOVE to read a pre-trip report!! :))...but I can make you a spreadsheet no matter what! :)

I hope she will have a WONDERFUL time! Have you had a chance to look at the Pixie Dust thread on the Disabilities board? I think it might be in the community section?? But it is full of wonderful stories of disabled children and adults having magical moments at Disney.

Has anyone heard from Misty, Hotmamac lately? I just get worried when I don't see any posts for a while!

I have not...I saw your note on her TR and was wondering the same thing!

And bigdisgrandma, too! I miss them...and their TR's!!!! :)

I know...I love seeing all of the pictures! :) I even got a thank you note (which is so above and beyond!! pictures are plenty of thanks!!) from Becca...it was sweet!
