Major Herbie Confusion!

Hello, all!

I am totally confused. I have seen folks wearing the new Herbie suit and I have seen the thread where people are being gifted the suit. Because I don't really know anyone well enough to ask for a code, I thought I would go to my local Wal-Mart and buy the film (in which I have no interest whatsoever - how's that for VMK obsession?) and it doesn't go on sale until Tuesday! How did people get the code? How can I get it? Thanks for any help you can provide!

not sure how when or why, but after talking to some of the people who have it, their store for some reason got the movie early.

dont worry Tuesday is coming and if you dont plan on getting it. by Friday when that grey haunted mansion suit comes out and most people dont have credits left, you can trade for it LOL

I can not speak for everyone but I got some codes early. I used to work for a company that does the merchandising for Buena Vista. I callled a friend and explained what I wanted. She made a few calls and two days ago I got an envelope in the mail with a big stack of the advertisements with the codes.

I started trading them right then and there and the have been trading well.

I remember a line from Maid in Manhatten that said "isn't not what you got, it's who you know and what they got" that was the case for me.

When people asked and so many of them did all I could really say is a friend hooked me up because VMK won't allow me to say much more.

I am one of those ppl.
I went into a walmart and a target and a local store (best place I went). starting on wednesday.
They all happened to have the movie in the back.
I understand that they were shipped from the distributors on monday and the stores were supose to wait until the 25th to sell movies. I didn't tell them that I just asked them if i could buy one and they said sure. I have already given my extra ones to my friends I hang with on VMK. If you find a store, talk to a younger employee and dont mention video is not supose to be out. Just pay and run ( jk-walk to door) Or thats what I did. As a side note ppl are mobbing us not sure if it was a gift or not. We need some protection ppl to help us.

Thank you all! I will try asking for the film, but I don't really want anyone to get into trouble for selling it to me early! I wish I knew someone who worked in a video store - I'll bet they are just throwing the codes away in the rental places! What a waste...

I talked to Blockbuster and they told me that their movies come from a distribution center and are "rental ready" which is already in the Blockbuster cases and without the promotional material.

I also spoke with some of our rental places and they also said that they normally do not get the promotional materials in their rentals. Bummer! There are three players in our house: Myself (Cruiselinefan) and my two kids (JamminJoey and CrazySteph). We are actually considering getting more than one video but I really don't want to do that if I don't have to.

Hopefully we can find someone with extra codes that they may not want.

I have seen a lot of Herbie outfits walking around VMK but I assumed they were testers. I guess this is not the case anymore.

We are actually considering getting more than one video but I really don't want to do that if I don't have to.

I have a solution! Everyone on your Christmas list gets a slightly but not completly opened Herbie video, won't they be thrilled lol!

Oh and in a related story, disney is trying to enter into a deal with butterball that when you buy your thanksgiving turkeys, there will be a code stuffed in the cavity of the bird for a virtual turkey leg in vmk.

I bet this will be the best selling dvd yet for Disney!!! Iris - I am with you on that with needing three outfits. Here is my plan. I asked a friend of mine who buys Disney DVD's - I know her kids do not play VMK. I asked her if she was buying the Herbie DVD, she said yes. So I said can I have the information related to VMK. She said she will get it too me. The problem is - it may not be as fast as my kids would like. lol.

It is worth a try. Still checking other ideas to - Grandmom could really use this DVD at her house.
