I hate when people wish the summer away--it's too short to begin with.![]()

Amen! One thing about chilly weather is you can always add on clothes to keep warm - but in the heat you can only take off so much before you end up in jail - which locally is NOT air conditioned![]()
I don't know how he got his hands on one, and I can't believe the low price he paid for it (we pay for everything with cash) but somehow he managed.
'prudity'
when it's hot, he gets that I'm not going to be in the mood just because I'm nude as a last resort.
I suspect this portable A/C is his idea of the best of both worlds.
Well, that.....and he's working nights this week and has to sleep during the day.
This caught my attention because we often have discussions where folks don't believe that folks ever have to wait for A/C repair. Is this you-waiting-for-them, or for some reason are they-waiting-for-you?Our central A/C will be repaired on Friday
last night at 9 pm I checked our temp on weather.com and it was 89 here in Maine and Orlando it was 76....isnt this a wee bit backwards..

but I've been in the air conditioned house to air conditioned car so I haven't felt it as much
and it's not that humid --- but unfortunately the humidity is coming just in time to get back to work
This weather is no fun if you have asthma. I so want to move to Maine (I know the Southern part is hot right now but Rocklan is 75 according to weather.com!). I feel like I spend all winter indoors and all summer too (I am sun sensitive also due to autoimmune disease). Bring on fall!![]()
Mid coast Maine is the coolest place to be they said on the news tonight. Humidity is supposed to be crazy high tomorrow...not really looking forward to that
But after all it is Maine and you don't have to wait too long for the weather to change.I live in Southern California where it is mostly an endless summer. We have been in our pool as late as november some years with slpikes in temps over 100 in december when the santa anas come. However right now it is downright chilly. I had to turn my fan off and am under a quilt. We get quite a few days over 100 degrees where I live but usually no or low humidity.
The one thing they don't miss is the wild fires. Right before they left they had to evacuate and the fire was about a mile away from their home...scary stuff

I love our desert weather with very low humidity. Bring on the heat cuz it doesn't bother people in the southwest.
It's easy to pick out the native Tucsonans. They're the ones out jogging and riding bikes in the heat.
Temps in the 100s is ho-hum to them.
