I just checked dvcmember.com to look at my upcoming two night stay at a SSR studio. When I went to upcoming vacations, it only shows our Nov. reservation for a 2BR at BCV.

I did a little digging, heading right to the transaction record. Well, it shows that for some reason the reservation was canceled TODAY! :scared1: The points (24) are in holding!

I'm up-to-date on my dues, so it's not that.

Has anyone else seen this happen? Could it just be a computer glitch?

Naturally, I'm calling MS as soon as I possibly can tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

Was this reservation on developer points? if so, you will not see your reservation on the site.

update... ok i see now that you saw the reservation cancelled... i'm with you...call member services asap at 9am.

Well, it shows that for some reason the reservation was canceled TODAY! ... Any thoughts?

The most likely reason is that they were doing the room assignments, and realized that they needed to switch you between a dedicated studio and a lockoff studio or vice-versa. This happened to me with my AKV studio last year, and it showed online as a cancellation of the ressie, then a rebooking with the points that had been put into holding. But I would call first thing in the morning, to make sure this is what they are doing.

I was hoping it may have something to do with room assignments. We are nearly at the 10 day mark. Would they be assigning this early?

Their IT system is crap*. You should call and speak to a GS rep to make sure that it didn't spontaneously nuke your reservations in one of the many "challenges" that it's had lately.

* The same system that had locked me out twice in the last few months requiring a user name and password reset. The same system that is "experiencing site-wide challenges" three times in the past three times that I called MS. Possibly the same system that loses dining reservations when you put them in the "shopping cart" when the pages are "currently unavailable".

Call MS and ask to speak to a Team Line Adviser. They are senior Cast Members that have a higher level access to the computer system.

The dogs wanted to go out at 3:00 a.m. EDT, so while they were out I went to DVCmember.com to see if anything had changed. At that time, I couldn't even log in to the site. I was thinking that perhaps this whole thing is just a system problem.

I just logged in successfully; nothing has changed. I'll be calling MS later this morning, close to noon. Look for an update later today.

Thanks for all of your suggestions! :)

Good luck, Mike. I would not be sleeping if I were in your shoes. That said, Disney will be accommodating you somehow, even if there has been another IT snafu.

You have more will power than I do. I'd call them when it opens at 9:00 AM! Of course I'm retired so my days are more flexible. But even we DH and I worked one of us would have arranged our schedule to call MS first thing. Besides, I'd be so distracted I wouldn't get much work done!

Good luck. Hopefully as the others stated above MS is just fixing something on your reservation.

I don't mean to scare you, but it did happen to us. We got to the front desk at HHI last Thanksgiving only to find out that the last 3 days of our vacation had inexplicably been cancelled. The resort was already booked solid, so they had no place for us for those last 3 days, and since we'd flown, we couldn't leave early (nor did we want to). And since we arrived at 10:00 pm, it was a long and sleepless night until I called the next morning. We never got an answer as to why it had happened, but I confess I really didn't care why-the answer "I guess our computer system screwed up" or trying to blame us would have just incensed me even more. However, they found a place for us, involving a lot of moving (which the resort did everything they could to make easier for us) and we survived (sort of). Unfortunately, it can happen.

....And the vertict? Seeing that it's a studio at SSR, I'm hoping that they were able to get you back in...and save your points too.

I'm on hold with member services right now. I've been on hold for over 10 minutes at this point. The CM, Walter, put me on hold as soon as I gave him my information. I'm guessing that's a bad sign...

NEWSFLASH! Walter just came back on the line. He said that the error was at SSR's end. Apparently they were looking at the reservations and just decided to cancel ours. Nice. :confused3

He was able to get us back in "with all the requests we had previously made." Which, of course, I verified. He also swears that DME will not be screwed up either. We'll see.

Thanks for all of your support. I wasn't really too worried about it, given the size of SSR. Even if it was sold out, I'm pretty sure that MS would have done something to make it work.

Now I can just relax. I hope.

They had to make room for all those upgraded on free dining so they bumped you! :eek:Just kidding, glad it all worked out for you!

I'm so glad Walter got you your reservation back but it's really scary that someone at SSR took it upon himself/herself to cancel your reservation. What if you hadn't checked on line and had arrived at SSR only to be told there was no room at the inn?

That's what's scary. I have the paper reservation, which I would have brought to SSR with me. The place is pretty darn big, so I'm sure they could have found us a room. But still... I can't believe a reservation can just "disappear."

Maybe it's reverse fairy dust...

Too many fingers spoil the broth.

I'm glad that your issue was fixed.

what worries me is that for example I have DevPoints so I cannot SEE my reservation! AAACK!

I'll call the day before I leave to confirm all is OK LOL
