Do any of you use any type of maintenance program when you're not training for an event?

Shan, my maintenance program goes like this:
M-3-5 miles (as I get closer to a race, I add in 4x10 sec hill sprints at the end)
T-1 mile easy/2-3 miles HM pace/1 mile easy
W-Rest
Th-2-4 miles easy/2 miles moderate pace
F-5 miles easy (closer to race add in 6x30 sec fartlek intervals at 5K pace)
Sa-Rest
Su-8-9 easy miles

Wow! OK, I'm not doing so much right now. :lmao:

I typically repeat the first 4 weeks of my marathon schedule until I have a specific event to train for.

Shan, I'm with you! I got tired just reading Lisa's schedule. I haven't done much research, but right now I'm thinking I'll do 2-mile runs 4 times a week plus a long-ish run (4+ miles) on Saturday mornings until I start officially training for my next half. I hope that's not too little, but it's a heck of a lot more than the 0 miles a day I was doing last year at this time! :lmao:

OK, so right now I've gone down from 4 runs a week to 3. I'm doing a 3 miler on Monday and Wednesday and a 6 miler on Friday. I have no idea if this is good or bad. :lmao:

I try to keep up my base mileage and usually look for a new goal like more running vs walking, increasing speed...something not so distance based.

Pre-marathon, my "training base was 10-12 miles per week. Since I've done (and LOVED) a marathon, I'm going to kick that up to 20-25 miles a week with some hill/speed work thrown in. When I start getting close to a marathon, I'll kick that up to 30.
