Maintenance Fees question..

OK, I'm not complaining. I chose BWV resale because it's the resort I want and I do not mind paying the extra maintenance fees.

I'm just wondering ...why? Why is BWV ( in some instances ) far more expensive than other DVC properties?

Two reasons it's more than BCV right now. One is it's older so more maint and the other is that the way to transportation costs break down makes it a little more per point than BCV. OKW and SSR will likely be lower because they have less to upkeep comparatively. SSR will likely be the lower per point long term due to it's building design and external corridors.

I wouldn't say "far more expensive". Compared to the other "hotel like" DVC's, BWV is $5.04, VWL is $4.86, BCV is $4.79, AKV is $4.71. So about 6.5% higher than AKV, 5% than BCV, 3.5% than VWL. Along with what Dean was saying, the villas are the majority of rooms at BW, while AKV, BC and WL are a smaller percentage of the total combined resort rooms. It will be interesting to see where AKV goes when they have a higher % of the rooms at AKL.

You never know what will happen. When I purcased HH, they had one of the least expensive fees, now is more than everywhere except VB.

Same thing when I bought BWV in 2003 . Now more expensive..

Just don't buy where I buy and you should be all set. LOL
