Maintenance dues jitters

This year will be our 4th year in a row going in January. I always pay my dues (lump sum) by the end of the grace period and my vacation has never been cancelled. Last year, I completely forgot (busy with work, school, my DDs hockey, DH's Phd etc) and called on the last day they were due and gave them a credit card! All is still fine and I am still a member. however, I will try to pay earlier this year to avoid any last minute panic attacks! Plus - I need my extra cash for spending money during my trip!

Thank you. This board is a GREAT source of information and it's good to hear from an experienced DVCer. Now I'll just count down the days until our January trip.

Thanks for all of the info!

Our dues statement came today. On the back it states:

"..payment is due in full by the payment due date, and considered past due the earlier of check-in at any of the DVC resorts, or after the Past Due After date."

I wonder how that might impact some of the previous posters who take Jan vacations. (We don't go in Jan. So it's not an issue for us.)

We tried paying our dues tonight and the website must be having issues as we kept getting booted off.
