Maingate Pass Question

Hi! We will be going to WDW in December to visit DD who is on the CP. We have a friend who will be meeting us on one of the days we are there, but her flight arrives around noon. We know that our daughter is allowed to admit up to three family members or friends per day, but we aren't sure if she will be able to let us in and then meet our other friend when she arrives to let her in also. Does anyone know if the whole party needs to be together when she admits us to the park? Or since she can let in three people can she go back for our friend if it's the same day? I believe the whole party must be together in order to fully utilize one 'use' of the maingate.

Someone with more experience may correct me, though.
