Maine seaside

My family has been going to Maine for over 50 years! Our next trip is June 19th and I can't wait. Thanks for sharing those gorgeous pics!!

luv, those are absolutely LOVELY!!! You know me, I could look at pictures of the great state of Maine all day long. AND they are having some FAB weather as M&D are telling me. I speak to them almost daily. Thanks for sharing!!!

How is the house?

Yes, the weather was gorgeous when we were there! Unlike the seven weeks we spent there last summer when it rained almost every single day!

Our house looks beautiful! I don't know if you saw the thread I posted awhile back about worrying how to sell a house with tenants in it, but everything I worried about hasn't happened. We put the house back on the market last week, and our renters have been wonderful about it. We stopped by the house to check on it and spent about an hour there. The house is immaculate! Even our real estate agent told us that she seldom sees such a clean, well-kept house, inside and out.:)

We've had several showings and the tenants have been great about it. We even had an offer from the first people to look at the house last weekend. Unfortunately, it was about 25,000 less than what we're looking to get for the house.

Amen!

What town were your photos taken in?

Some of the photos were taken in Old Orchard Beach, near Pine Point, and others were taken in Cape Porpoise, which is near Kennebunkport.

These are beautiful. I think my heart belong in Maine. I must put that on my to-do list and go there someday!!!!

Uh, do you have any more? ;) I just love them!!

Thank you! Do I have more? Yes, lots more!:rotfl: Here are some more pics for you!

I could be there in 5 minutes from my house :)

OP- beautiful pics

And yes, we are being SO spoiled with weather as of late. It was nearly 90today and gorgeous sunshine (that I admired from my office, ugh!!)

Please, for me, the next time you're there, raise a lobster roll in toast to me and my family. We miss it so much there. There's nothing better than that toasted, buttery bread making a lobster roll.

I thought I recognized Cape Porpoise:)
We love Maine, we go multiple times thru the summer, sometimes even just to York Beach for the day, love it!

Yes, luv, I do remember that thread and was wondering how things were going ... well it sure does sound like everything is going great with your renters!!! :thumbsup2
We also have renters in our Boston home and like you, we worry about our home all the time. First renters moved out May 1st and our property managers handled everything and said the house is fabulous. New renters moved in May 15th!!! :goodvibes

luv, your pictures are BETTER than postcards!!! ::yes::

okay, I think I know what we are doing this weekend!

gorgeous pics...let summertime begin! :) :) :) :)

Thanks for sharing the gorgeous photos! Gotta love Maine!! :thumbsup2

DD, her DH, my DGD, and DGD's best friend are heading for Maine tomorrow night for the Memorial Day weekend.. We held DD's wedding at Nubble Light (15 yrs. ago - May 20th- their wedding photo is on the York Chamber of Commerce web site under "Weddings") and of course they'll be returning to "the scene of the crime" - LOL.. Hopefully they'll have good weather as this is the first time that they've been able to get back over there since 2003..:goodvibes

Great pictures! I can't wait for summer. The Ramp in Cape Porpoise is our favorite place to go. I spend most of the summer at my parents beach house in Biddeford which is just down the road.

Biddeford Pool, Hills Beach or Fortunes Rocks?

We live in Biddeford. I grew up in Hills Beach. Small world!!

Great pics, OP!!!! The weather has been beautiful here lately!!!

Hills Beach. My parents built a house there in '73 and we've been going every summer since. I can't imagine life without Maine. I love walking out to the island, but pretty much go to Biddeford Pool every day to go to the beach. We got married at St. Brendan's even though we're only summer folks. My sister is getting married at one of the churches in town on July 24th--I can't remember if it's St. Mary's or St. Joseph's--by the priest who is always at the beach--Fr. Ron.

I was supposed to go to Maine for the weekend. Sadly I got a bit of a bug so I couldn't go =(. But thank you for the pics. I love Maine we go up a lot on weekends during the warmer months. I hate the traffic of going to the cape or the ferry's to the islands but love the long drives up north =). You have me planning my weekends already.

We took some friends to dinner at Pier 77 last week. We had a table with a gorgeous view of the harbor.:thumbsup2 The food was very, very good, too! My brother waits tables at Pier 77 in the summertime, so if you happen to go there and see a handsome man named "Mike", tell him Sharon said "hi!"

Thanks everyone for all the compliments on my photos!

Too funny!! We moved to Hills Beach when I was about 3 (I am 36 now) Lived there until I was 20. Great memories. I knew a couple of Jen's. We may have met before!! Did you know the Fontaine's or the Serra's?

I know Fr Ron very well, we belong to St. Joes. They closed St. Mary's in December. They are keeping St. Brendan's open, despite church consolidation.

Congrats to your sister!

We were friendly with the Serras on Seabreeze Ave, if that's who you mean. My parents owned a house on that street for a while, too, and the Serras were across from us. I'm 39, so I'm sure at some point we must've seen each other at the beach when we were younger. It's such a small world.
