Main Street Show

Just curious -

Does anyone else have a weird compulsion to see that awesome little performance done every morning on MS (I'm not sure of the name).

"Clang Clang" (You're all throwing your arms up, and you know it!)

After happening upon this the past several trips, my sister and I happened to mention to each other that we secretly really looked forward to seeing it and the trip did not feel complete without it. I never knew anyone else loved it as much as myself (although she would be the natural one!)

I must sing along and do the motions...perhaps it's some sort of disorder.

"I'm walking right down the middle of Main Street USA...."

God I love that song.

When I am taking someone new to MK I always take them when they are performing. I love it.

When we were at MK couple of weeks ago, when we entered in the early AFTERNOON, we heard the familiar strains of that audio track.

As we reached the City Hall area we saw a ton of film/video production gear and a lot of roped-off area (around the "Roy and Minnie" statue) near the front edge off the Emporium.
The Main Street performers were positioned around the (stationary) trolley (complete with horse) and the audio operator kept playing the "Clank-clang and songs" track over-and-over as the group performed (at least PART) of it.

They had a gang of "assistants" who job was to more-or-less send incoming guests "away" quickly, past the set-up.
The word was that they were shooting a new TV commercial, using this as a part of it (I assume as a "background").

We just looked around a bit and went along into MK.

Although you never know exactly WHAT was being shot or WHOM was doing the shooting (a standard answer to everything like this is, "Its a commercial.") but don't be too surprised if you DO see a new WDW spot on TV that has this scene in it.

I enjoy the opening music when they have the family and dancing and stuff, but it doesn't do anything for me when they just play it.

I love the Clang, Clang / Walking Down Main Street medley!

ohh im so glad someone brought this up. i have never seen it but have the song on my ipod and love it!!! what is it and when is it performed. is it something different than the opening ceremony at park opening???

I HAVE to see it this trip! I've never seen it believe it or not! I know I know, what kind of Disney freak am I if I haven't seen the Main Street show. However I do know all the songs, LoL. We never get there early enough to see it and if we do get there early, it's because we either have a tour or breakfast ADR's. I promise I'll see it this time!

Yes. The opening ceremony is performed in front of the park when the MK opens. The Trolley Show is performed about 3-4 times on Main Street (down by Casey's down to the area by the flagpole) on a trolley car with dancers. It is very catchy and I have to see it every trip. Of course, after seeing it I ALWAYS have the song stuck in my head! "Walking right down the middle of Main Street USA!!").

Ooooh! I love "The Trolley Song" (Clang Clang)! My school is doing Meet Me in St. Louis right now, which the song is from. It is so fun to do and I think it is just perfect for that little show! The show is so adorable and is a great touch of Disney magic!
