Main Street Mega Store JUST Charged My DD's Credit Card-UPDATE

2 months after her original order, and e-mails telling them to cancel the order MSMS JUST charged my DD's CC!!!

ACK!!!

I told her to follow this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=687867&page=3&pp=15 , e-mail the owner, and refuse shipment per their instructions on their website and PRAY that she is refunded her $80.

This company is SUCH bad news!!! ::yes::

You know, I really don't know. She used a VISA debit card, so VISA should stand behind the purchase, right? I know that it is a mistake to use a debit card for on-line purchases, but my DD did not know that. :(
 
You can still file a dispute. Have her call the bank and they'll give her a form to fill out. They'll want to know when she cancelled the order and if she got any kind of confirmation.

Which, I believe, she did NOT receive any confirmation. She heard NOTHING about the delay. She should have a copy of the e-mail saved in her sent folder, I hope... :(
 
It certainly won't hurt her to try. I'd have her wait a short while to see if they respond and if not, go ahead and file the complaint. They'll probably want whatever she has, but I don't think they give you much of a hard time over it. I know that recently our debit card number was stolen. I have always been aprehensive at using it as a credit card becuase I didn't know how protected it was, but the bank refunded us the money ASAP and we just had to fill out a few forms. I noticed that there were other options, such as your card was charged after you cancelled or something like that, so that's how I knwo they will do it.

Did they even ship out the stuff to her?

It was supposed to be sent to her BF's parent's home since it was SUPPOSED to be a surprise for Christmas for US. I have not heard that anyone has received it yet, but as I said, I told her to tell them to refuse delivery based upon MSMS's instructions of a few weeks ago.
This is a mess, and I am sorry that she has to go through this when she was just trying to be thoughtful and clever... :(
 
Got this Instant Message from DD, Ann:

Mom, I got an email back from the place saying that they will give me a full refund on my credit card (and a 10$ gift certificate toward their store- they gave me a code for that) Ill have to check my statement later on today or tomorrow

I hope that the credit shows up in a timely fashion and that we no longer have to worry about Main Street Mega Store.

I told her that all we have to do is to call Disney Merchandising if we ever want to buy anything from the parks. :)
