main street electrical parade and spectromagic

Can someone tell me the difference between these two ?

Are they both parades? And both lit up? If so what is the difference?

I've only seen the Main Street Electrical Parade once but from what I remember there isn't much between them at all - different floats and music but other than that pretty much the same (That sounds wrong but you know what I mean). They are both parades, about 20 minutes long or so, and they are both lit up so they take place after dark.

They are very different. The music is different (Main Street Electrical Parade uses an upbeat baroque Hoedown which is very catchy music), the floats are totally different - Spectromagic has more Princess floats that swap between white lights and coloured lights where as the main Street Electrical Parade is more about colour. If you are just looking for a night time electrical parade they might seem similar. IMHO I perfer the Elcetrical parade just because of the more upbeat music (which I am now singing in my head!!!!)

I've seen The Mainstreet Electrical Parade once at DL and IMO it is so much better that Spectromagic, and the music has a lot to do with that.

I've seen Main St Electrical Parade at WDW, DL and DLP ... and I love it, (so much I have a watch that plays the tune)

But something about spectromagic tugs at my heart strings ...

but yes, they're both light up after dark parades ...

I have only every seen Spectro at WDW but have the Electrical Parade music in my head I am looking forward to seeing this in the summer
