Just wondering if anyone heard of a change to the Main Street Christmas decorations this year. As I understand it, the Dragon in the Festival of Fantasy Parade won't fit under the old Main Street garland. I know they usually remove the garland when filming the Disney Parks Christmas Parade, but I kinda like the look for Christmas. Just wondering if Disney has something else up it's sleeve for this year.

There were a series of permits filed a couple months ago for the main street buildings that said "Investigate location for holiday arch" which leads me to believe they were working on something that would cross the street and be high enough for the parade to pass under. Guess we will know in the next two weeks.

When are the decorations scheduled to go up? We arrive on Nov 14.

Four years ago on the same date they were up so I assumed they would be again.

They are usually up within two days of the last Halloween Party, at least they were for the last two years. We generally space one of our trips there to coincide with the last Halloween Party and the first Christmas Party so we can see the decorations for both seasons.

It is around Veterans Day(pretty sure last days of F&W and first MVMCP are always Veterans Day weekend). They should be up by the 14th.

i go on the 15th to wdw and hear that the new frozen show is opening this week so yeah the decorations are already up... plus i heard it from **************** that the decor is up iin the studios

Should also be up by now in Downtown Disney (what's left to decorate, that is) and maybe Animal Kingdom too. From what I remember, Epcot was about the last on the list to be decorated, but they didn't do too much there.

MK is an overnight transformation after Halloween they work from park close to opening putting up the Christmas decor. AK doesn't do a whole lot nor does epcot. DTD has started I believe but day after Halloween a lot goes up.

About the only thing I remember being decorated in Animal Kingdom are the light poles and mainly just garland with lights wrapped around the poles. Not much at all.

Magic Kingdom, MGM, and Downtown Disney have the most decorations, in my opinion. The main decoration in Epcot is the large tree.

If you're MK this Christmas, see if you can find any Christmas decorations in the park that are not visible in the camera shot down Main Street USA for the Kelly Christmas Special. The whole park used to be decorated:sad1:

So any news today of decorations at MK? I saw reports on Sat that the Halloween deco was still up.

New garland is supposed to go up Tuesday night the are going to run the floats during the installation process to make sure it works. The shops continue to see more and more christmas merchandise.

Is it true that the big tree at MK isn't up until after they film the Christmas parade? We're trying to decide when exactly to go at Christmas next year, and that might make a difference.

I believe that's correct
