We are hoping to get our 1 year olds first haircut at the main street barber while we are there. We are only going to be in MK one day and we don't have hopper so is there a way to make an appointment to make sure we can get it done? Any help would be much appreciated.

No, they don't do appointments. Our strategy last year was to head directly there at rope drop. My DH, and two DS's both got there hair cut there with about a 30 minute wait.

Good luck!

I don't believe they take appointments, but I could be wrong. When we went for DS's first birthday, we went first thing in the morning before the line got too long. There was already one person in front of us. I would suggest getting there early if this is really something you want to do. It was a great experience and DS got Mickey ears and a certificate too.:goodvibes

It is worth the wait. My son was there for a junior olympic swim meet and they did his hair in red, white and blue stripes. It will definately be a memorable first hair cut for all!

we are doing that too! 30 minute wait? ugh..... what you'll do for memories? do they do anything for the 1st lock of hair cut?

Our little one had her first hair cut @ the Main Street barber! It was awesome!!! They know how to get the kids to stay still and it was fun! And PLENTY of photo ops! I LOVED IT!!!!! I would not have done it any other way! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

How old were your kids when they got their first haircut? DS was born with a head of hair but will only be 9 months when we get there. I'm assuming he won't need a haircut by then but I don't know much about these things.

We went at rope drop and there was a line...so we tried again after the afternoon parade ended and walked right in! My dd was 6 and it was her 1st haircut by someone other than me!

My DS had his 1st and 2nd haircuts there, and both times were went were in the afternoon. The first was right before the parade and we didn't really wait at all, and the 2nd was on Mother's Day, right before closing, around 4:40. They close at 5. Michel cut Joel's hair both times- well worth it, and the $14 is cheaper than "regular" places around home.

Joel was 16.5 months for his 1st cut, and almost 20 months for his 2nd. Unfortunately his 3rd haircut is probably going to be at home around this weekend, since his hair is getting too shaggy IMO:rotfl:, and he's almost 23 months, and then he'll get another one in WDW when we're down in October.

2 things:

1. Joel was our second choice name for our DS.

2. Was he born with hair? That might make a difference as to when they need haircuts?

I have the whole thing on video tape:rotfl2:

They are AWESOME, but no appointments...we went early and didn't have to wait!

My son was almost 10 mos old, and Michel got him to stay still--to this day I wish he'd share that secret:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Anyway, it was his first haircut, and he got a Certificate, a set of 1st haircut ears, and the put a lock of hair in a container with pixie dust...

My wife just about cried:hug:

My 1st DS was born w/a full head of hair & needed his 1st haircut by 2 mos old! His had grown long past his ears & we couldn't put it off anymore. My 2nd DS was born bald, so not sure when he'll need his 1st haircut. I am hoping when he turns one b/c that's when we'll go to WDW for his 1st trip.

Yikes! That's a lot of hair. So adorable, I bet! DS didn't have quite that much but let's hope he's due for his 1st at 9 months when we're at WDW.

I was quite shocked to see all that hair. The cute part was that his hair stood up like a rooster!

For our DS's first lock of hair, they put it into a baggie with some mickey confetti.
