Main seating for dinner

Each night, there is a Main Seating and a Second Seating for dinner. In general, the Main Seating begins between 5:45 PM and 6:15 PM and the Second Seating begins between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM, though these times may vary based on itinerary.

We were on 2 Dream cruises in Oct and it was 5:45 and 8:15

Thank you. I just signed up for the mixology class for 4:30 to 5:30. It still gives enough time.

They are particularly generous when they allow you to make them yourself... I think that version of the class is sadly going away.
Happily, I can remember those classes (never drank the whole glass of whatever). Haven't taken mixology in 3 cruises. Are they more like the cooking classes: watch the expert and get a sample?

We have not taken the new version where you only get to watch. Others have recently reported it here. The last time we did it in January 2019 on Fantasy, we got to mix our own drinks but could not go at the back of the bar anymore.

We did the mixology in Feb 2019 and did the back of the bar mix your own. The facilitator brought up 4 or 5 people who mixed the drinks for everyone, then switched to the next set and so on. Lots of fun. And yes, very generous...

We never got to fully make our own drinks on either of the two mixology sessions we did. There were some parts you did at your seat (muddling, etc.) but no one behind the bar and no making your own (this was on the Magic). But they were by no means sample sized drinks. They were nearly full sized ones. And I drank them all even the ones I didn't like as much (how do I know I really don't like them unless I drink it all!) I'd like to say I didn't end up stumbling anywhere afterwards but it gets a little fuzzy in my memory after about drink 3.

We got to go behind the bar to make the drinks August 2018 on the Dream, and candidly, I'm kinda glad they no longer do that. I prefer my drinks to be mixed by a professional; everything I had at Mixology was just a little bit off (usually because people added too much alcohol and it drowned out all the other flavors). Plus, the hygiene aspect squicked me out a little (at least I know DCL would not have its bartender come into work if they were sick, and I expect they'd have good hand washing practices etc).
