Hey there everyone. I’ve been looking around the fourms and I just can’t seem to find any detailed information on what exactly CPers in Main Entrance Operations do. I know that the WDWCP website lists all of the things we can do, but it seems like CPs are fairly limited in what they are actually assigned to do.

So, I was hoping that someone that has done MEO before could offer some insight on specific roles and training that we get and a general overview of what it’s like to be at the entrance to the Happiest Place On Earth. Many thanks! :goodvibes

I was main entrance ops in mk, but we called it main street ops :) I worked at the turnstiles and did pac(parade audience control). I knew some cp's worked pac and trains. I was told that cp's can only be trained in two areas, so I couldn't be trained in turnstiles, pac, and trains(also its rare that cp's get trained on trains).
I loved main street ops, especially pac! I know that meo is different in other locations though. I am sorry i am not a lot of help in answering your question!

Thanks for your response! It was helpful :) I'm just trying to get a feel for what I'll be doing while I'm down there, so anything is great :goodvibes

Whatever you get in, I am sure you will love it! Though I hope you get put in my location at mk, because it is the best! but I am biased
If you get turnstiles at any park though, it is neat because you are the first and last cm's that the guests see from inside the parks! Even though it was stressful, I loved greeting people and seeing the excitement on their faces, telling people that we hope to see them again tomorrow when they would leave. It was very rewarding!

Hi! I actually just got back from doing MEO for Spring '11 (I extended over the summer into a different area).

While taigirl87 did the turnstiles half of MEO, I had the other half-- parking. We drove the tram, spieled on the back of the tram, directed cars on where to park, and whatever other odds and ends needed to be done around the parking lot. It was actually loads of fun most of the time, even when it was super busy. I worked at Epcot, which actually has the largest parking lot of all 4 parks (in terms of acreage). I love that tram with all of my heart!

I'm going to be MEO as well. I hope I get parking, only because I think it'll be more fun than the tickets area.

I did MEO at Epcot (and am still seasonal) - I work turnstiles (both Main Entrance and International Gateway) and Auto Plaza :) I love my role, it is very heavy in guest contact, which I wanted.

Awesome, thanks to everyone for your help. I was kind of worried that I wouldn't like my position since I couldn't find anything solid on it, but now I feel alot better about my options :goodvibes

I'm finishing off a program of MEO at Epcot (moving out today, actually </3), and I worked turnstiles. For the most part it looks like you're between turnstiles, parking, and Auto Plaza.

I worked MEO in MK for fall 2010. It was amazing! You work turnstiles and Parade Audience Control (the best!)

I'm hoping I get in for spring 2012 for MEO in MK again.

I got accepted into MEO for the Spring of 2011 and am now seasonal. I really was not happy with my role when i received the offer, but I was just going to deal with it because I was not turning it down. When arriving at Casting I found I was working at Downtown Disney and got a bit confused since parking is all self service there. I then found out that I was working at the Disney Quest Box Office and as an Usher at Cirque du Soleil La Nouba. I loved working at Downtown Disney especially at Cirque du Soleil. A benefit of working Downtown Disney is you never start before 10:45am and the latest you will ever work is 11:30pm.

What were your hours like for MEO in Magic Kingdom?

typically i worked afternoons till late night, especially when there were double parades. Also, they can extend you if a parade is added or they extend park hours. every once in a while i worked in the morning, opening turnstiles, but that didn't happen often. My schedule varied so much!
