Main Dining wait list-when did you find out?

So this is our very first time requesting to be wait listed for Main dining. We sail in less than 3 weeks. I was just curious when those who requested to be wait listed for Main dining found out, and how. I understand that I can also try to change the assignment on embarkation day-but I'm hoping to find out beforehand.

On our most recent cruises (B2B) we were waitlisted for early. The first leg came through about a month out. The second leg was about a week out. Sometimes people don't find out that they were switched until they actually check in at the port (it's printed on your KTTW card). If it's crucial, and you still have late seating at check in, go to where dining changes are being handled (it'll be noted in the Navigator you get in the terminal) and ask there.

We found out 30 minutes before dinner - they called us on our wave phone and told us they were able to move us. We had been on the waiting list for 6 months.

We were on the waitlist and got an email several months in advance from our travel agent indicating we were moved

I'm worried because I booked last minute at 29 days out. I called DCL today, and after asking how far down the wait list I was, she responded "very far down". Thanks, lady.

Even with that, I haven't lost hope yet-she assured me that they do take families with younger children into consideration first. If all else fails, my first stop on embarkation day will be to the location for dining changes.
