We are heading to Disney next Saturday, I am going to mail a package down to the resort this weekend so it is there when we arrive...they will hold it for us, correct? What do I have to put on the package, do I just address it to myself at the resort?

Also is it tru I can't just mail it at the post office I have to go through UPS?

I had my package mailed to my resort. The only thing they asked for was my arrival date. I mailed it exactly one week prior to my arrival and called them the day I left to make sure it got there before me .

Sorry I did'nt see the last question. I did go to the post office but they told me it had to be UPS :confused3

Either UPS or FedEx. USPS doesn't deliver directly to the resorts - they deliver to some central "holding" place. So if you want your package to be delivered directly to the resort, then yes, it needs to go by a delivery service and the two that deliver to WDW are UPS and FedEX. I've done this a couple of times with my luggage. Put it in a box and sent it UPS. Put my Name and "Arriving 1/1/01" and then the resort name and address. Works great. They will hold it for a couple of days. But mine got there a day before the first time and the day that I arrived the second time.

I actually had Hickory Farms delivered to the resort from the big sale... it arrived 8 days before I got there, and they held it, no problem. I was at POFQ, so what happened was there is a central holding area for packages for the Port Orleans resorts, and because my box was a little big and FQ has very little room, they stored the box there. When I went to the front desk to get it, they had to send for it - taking about 30 minutes. It wasn't any big deal at all, but something you might have to plan for.

I've had stuff shipped to ASM before, and they have a HaUUUUGE package holding area, so it was no issue.

Your name, resort address, and arrival date are the most critical things... I also put my ressie # on there...

I would ship either FedEx or UPS Ground, as the Post Office does not deliver to the actual physical address (instead, they deliver to Disney's central postal facility in Lake Buena Vista).

Plus, FedEx Ground is one of the industry's best-kept secrets when it comes to pricing...

I have seen lotso of threads about how to ship a package down to WDW, but I am wondering if there is anything I should know about shipping it back home. Do all the resorts have shipping counters available? Is it the same price as when I ship from home? I guess I need to bring packing tape too. Anything else?:confused3

I know the Mods & Deluxes have a concierge desk where you can mail your package from. I brought tape and mailing lables I typed up with my return address on them so I could tape those onto my box. I also brought a black magic marker in case I need to mark out anything on the box from when it got shipped down. I just repacked it. They do charge $5.00 as a processing fee to ship the box, on top of the shipping charges. But this was well worth it for me. Other than that the actual shipping charges for UPS seemed to be just about a dollar more to ship from Florida to Wisconsin than they were from Wisconsin to Florida. My box was a couple of pounds lighter on the way home but the shipping charges (without the $5.00 fee) were the same.
