Hi all! I want to mail a letter while at WDW in a few weeks. Is there a way to get a special seal or stamp on it if we send it from Epcot or MK?? I know they have post office mailboxes but I didn't know if the letters deposited got something special put on them or not? Thanks for any info or directions!

It will be postmarked "Lake Buena Vista" and not "Walt Disney World," according to an old Birnbaum's that I have lying around, but beyond that I couldn't tell you.

I agree with Rastahomie. If you want to do something special you could buy a sticker for the envelope.

Try stopping by City Hall on Main Street. They may have a suggestion or Stamp. They were able to get "Mickey" to sign a birthday card for us a few trips back.

They have very generic postage stamps for sale in the gift shop, which is very disappointing.
Previous trips, they have disney cartoon postage stamps for sale there.

And the postage chop is not very special neither.

To do something special, we brought a birthday card to ask Mickey and princesses to sign at the Meet and Greets.

I can tell you it is postmarked lake Buena vista. I know because I mailed 15 postcards from there thinking it would say WDW but nope. I could have saved myself the effort and mailed from my hotel vs trying to write them out and mail in the park. As far as stamps, nothing special. I had read somewhere at one time it was different and each trip I continue to mail from MK but still no luck.

Yep, same here. Thought we'd mail the girls each a keepsake postcard and get some cute Disney postmark and nope, nothing. I feel like back when I visited in 1989 that there were WDW cancellation postmarks then. Anybody know?

I also thought I remember that from an earlier trip.

Oddly enough the mailboxes that were on Streets of America in HS didn't open (at least not in more recent years, didn't try it before that)

They are all sealed now as far as I know. It saves collecting from those boxes and I imagine it is a security measure as well. I have dropped cards at Guest Relations and asked them to mail them.

If you take your letter or postcard to City Hall in Town Square, the Guest Relations cast members have a special stamp they can stamp your letters with.. Then you can mail them from the mailboxes anywhere along Main Street.. Here's what it looks like!!

I think those were just props in keeping with the theme.
