The Polynesian is paradise within paradise, pure and simple. We had a beautiful stay there last week and I will go back again the next chance I get, despite it being much "cheaper" to stay on my DVC points at a DVC resort. Don't get me wrong, I love OKW, BWV, etc. but the magic is truly at the Poly hands down.

We had awesome rooms in Samoa, ground floor facing the volcano pool, just as requested (1608 and 1609)-- very convenient and none of the nonsense I've heard discussed on these boards previously (immaculate, no smells, etc.). Great view of the pool with the GF very visible to one side. Walk to TTC is definitely doable, even for my older parents and someone like me, who is in the family way. I would ask for these GV rooms again.

CMs were lovely, without exception from beginning to end. Many alohas, warm smiles and ready assistance throughout the stay. I watched them deal with a particularly surly guest one day with grace and aplomb. (aside: This guest was clearly trying to get a free room for the night with no rational explanation and yet they kept their cool when another hotel might have booted him out on his butt for being so nutty.)

Mousekeeping was spot on, and our rooms were perfect each day we came back-- cleanliness is a HUGE deal to this mom of a one year old. When we asked for an earlier visit one day, they came through without question. No towel animals, but I really couldn't care less about that.

The monorail and boat transportation was invaluable, and the location of the resort cannot be beat. The view of Wishes, the EWP and especially the castle, not to mention hearing the train whistle across the Seven Seas Lagoon keeps you right in the middle of the magic even while lounging in the pool.

I'll close this long report now 'cause I've gotta run, but will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Oh and just as a point of reference for everyone out there, my resume of Disney hotels includes GF, CR, OKW, BW, and of course previous Poly stays about ten years ago.

In short, mahalo, Polynesian-- I am sorry to have left you, but I shall return!!!! :teeth:

Thank You ... Thank You ... Thank You ... for the positive report on the Poly! I'm so glad you had a great stay there.

There seems to have been so many negative reports lately about the Poly that it had me nervous (and sad!) about our upcoming trip.

We absolutely ADORE the Poly and have always had wonderful stays there. I'm looking forward to being there - only 3 more sleeps!

Aloha!

Ditto to WeLovethePoly's comments. I've been upset about all of the negative reports lately. We stayed at the Poly twice this year, once in Feb and once in July and we had a totally positive experience both times. We thought the grounds were lovely, loved the pool and beach, the CM's were top notch, everything was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very happy to read your report. We will be staying at Poly for the first time next month.

So you think Samoa is a convenient building to request? I've done a lot of research and that is the building I was leaning towards. We have a GV room booked and we have one-year-old twins in tow!

Also, where did you view Wishes from Poly? And was it convenient in relation to the location of your room?

Last May, we stayed at CR and could view EWP from our room. Our girls were too young to enjoy it, but at least my DH and I could watch it every night while the girls slept!

Glad to hear you had such a nice stay! I was little worried about some of the reports, but must admit there are always a few with this resort.

We love it, but we love to just sit at the pool and enjoy the music, view, and a tropical drink. The view of the fireworks isn't half bad either!!

Missus Toad, we were there when you were! (Oct 9-16). We were in Tahiti lagoon view. No towel animals for us either. We did not have fridge in our room, but after requesting it they brought it immediately. Housekeeping was very satisfactory.
We probably passed you on a pathway and never knew it. Glad you had a good trip!

Samoa was great, especially with a one year old-- very convenient to go back and forth from the pool, GCH and boat transport. Ask for the volcano pool side, ground floor.

We watched Wishes from the pool and the beach-- again, both very convenient to the rooms-- just a few steps outside!

Enjoy your trip!!

We were in Somoa room 1605 from October 5th - 12th. We loved it! Great location. Our trip sounded just like yours. All CMs very pleasant and helpful. We love the Polynesian!

We love the Poly, too. Glad you had a memorable trip. The monorail is priceless for parents of little ones who may need a quick nap during the day.

Just love reading these happy posts! If only every visitor could have such a memorable stay. I agree with you..."the Polynesian is paradise within paradise, pure and simple". Can't wait to return! :)
