Someone asked me about using Magnetic Paper. I have a few DISigns that I laminate and put on the Fridge at BWV. However, I have never been on a Cruise and am not a "magnetic" expert. So questions are
1. What type of paper do you print on? Photo paper. regular paper, heavier paper?
2. Is there such a thing as magnetic paper?
3. I laminate my DISigns and put the strip magents on them (the kind with tape on my side that sticks to the DISigns and a magnet on the other side)
4. What tips does someone who is making magnets need to know?

Thanks, Penny

I was just thinking the same thing yesterday -
Wondering what everyone uses to make the magnets.

Can't wait to see what people use!

I buy the magnetic paper and love it. I just ordered a pack of 20 sheets from Amazon for $24 and that is a decent price. Depending how large you make your magnets you can normally get at least 4 per page. I do make some larger than that.

I bought 100 sheets from Ebay last year for under $25.00! I used the paper to make magnets for our resort door at ASMO'S. I love it, but if it gets wet the ink will run. We never had a blowing rain last year so our designs stayed nice and dry! Here is a picture below:

So if you print it on magnetic paper, do u still laminate it after? Thanks.

I also buy magnetic paper for our doors at Pop and the cruise..I agree that I'm not sure you could laminate, but have wondered if you could cover the front with contact paper..haven't tried it though.

For smaller magnets I have a Xyron Machine that you can put in regular printed paper and it is laminated on the front and magnetic on the back....Handy, but again it's only like 4 inches wide or so...

They now have the Xyron 900 which prints up to 9 in wide. One cartridge will laminate one side and add a magnetic back to your print. Haven't purchased yet, hopefully, Santa will bring me one.

I do use the magnetic sheets from Avery. Amazon and Shoplet both have a good price.

Ooh...I had no idea. I need to add it to my list too. Want it!!
