Time to start checking that I've got everything in order, and figure out what suitcase I'll be taking. Since we're flying into Madrid on Wednesday and taking the train to Barcelona on Thursday, and then taking the train from NYC back home to DC, I'll be pawing through the closet for the lightest, easiest rolling suitcase. And it's a looooooong walk down the pier to the boat from the taxi drop-off point.

@valee I feel your struggle, its real for me too! I have to pack lighter then usual. I live in Baltimore and were flying out of JFK on Wednesday afternoon, after taking the train up to NYC. I arrive in Barcelona on Thursday. Then getting home is just as annoying, cause were taking the train after we get off the ship. I may need to hire someone to carry my bags!

Hello to all the new cruisers. Unfortunately this page for our cruise hasn't received much traffic. There is more activity in some of the "other" places. 6 weeks to go, can hardly wait!

I get that a I am more of an observer both here and on the unmentionable blue site. However i am just sad as I've tried to join at the other place as I have not been accepted (multiple times), I've resigned myself to not meeting any other Dis'ers this trip. It is rather disheartening.

We're taking the Amtrak train south around 2:30. The Manhattan cruise port is close to Penn Station, but we're going to grab a cab to take us over to MSG, rather than lose all of the post cruise glow crossing the avenues dragging our bags.

You'll need to go back to the first page and find the Fantasy cruise thread - you've stumbled onto the thread for the transatlantic cruise from Barcelona Spain that leaves the same day as your cruise.

Hi, everyone! My cruise docs have arrived and I'm looking forward to sailing next month.
It's my 2nd time on a WBTA, 3rd crossing overall (did the EBTA in May). I also will be taking Amtrak home after the cruise (northbound, though) and am trying to work out what sort of baggage I can bring as my train home does not have checked baggage available.

Hi @ImprovGal were taking the NE Regional south, so there isn't any checked baggage either. According to Amtrak website "Each passenger may bring two personal items, 25 lbs. (12 kg) and 14 x 11 x 7 inches each, and two carry-on items, 50 lbs. (23 kg) and 28 x 22 x 14 inches each, onboard. Make sure you have a tag with your name and address on the outside of all your bags."

Just a note after reading a few of the posts (like the one above). There will be lovely cruisers on the Magic. Don't be concerned that you haven't managed to connect with anyone on this board. It looks like the other place has a lot of action, but I haven't been invited either.

No worries--I guarantee you will meet friendly folks. Anyone who can quote Hannibal Smith is A-OK with me.

Hi! I hope you are all having a great WBTA! I'll be getting on the Magic when you dock. It's a 4 night DVC Member Cruise! When you get into port, I hope someone will post about your voyage. DH and I will be taking the Magic on the EBTA next May!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone on this sailing is doing a trip report, I'd love to read it, we are booked on the 2017 westbound TA. Was there any Halloween on the High Seas stuff? I know it's not supposed to start until October, but I just was curious if they snuck any on there. Also did you have two deck parties or just the Pirate deck party? Thanks!

The HotHS merch started appearing in the gift shop near the end of the cruise. There were no scheduled Halloween activities, but guests could see the show rehearsals if they were in the right place at the right time.
