MAGIC's 2016 Westbound Transatlantic - September 17-28

Thank you! I can't wait to hear more about the sailing. Did you have a nice time?
I had a great time! I was happy they ran the improv workshop series again.

And yes, we had both Frozen and Pirate deck parties, although I didn't catch either this time around.

Cool!!! What's the improv workshop series?

A series of "Improv 101" workshops was listed on the Navigators for 4 of the sea days. They were run by Greg Triggs, a contracted show director for DCL. The workshops build up to a short improv performance set before one of the cabaret shows.

What sort of info are you looking for? My perspective may be a bit different since I was sailing solo and enjoy much of the onboard adult programming. (The improv 101 was classified as all ages, though)

Oh nothing too specific, just general information. Weather, port information... I'm excited and looking for varied perspectives. Thanks so much for taking time to answer questions :-)

Many cast members have commented to me about how good the crossing was. Good for you guys!

We had very rough seas on Thursday, a beautiful day in Halifax, today it's grey skies and seas, but great activities like preview of Moana, and actually seeing the star, a very lovely 15 year old, soon to be 16, just like Moana!

Is this something they do on all the Magic cruises, or just the longer ones? My DS would LOVE this.

My understanding is that this particular series is just for the longer itineraries with several sea days (transatlantic, Panama canal). How old is your son, though? I've noticed improv activities like "Lights Camera Improv" in the youth programming on other cruises, although I haven't seen what those activities entail since I don't have kids.

We have 4 sea days on our NYC Magic cruise to the Bahamas. Sooooo maybe....

I would be extremely surprised, but it all depends on which special guests are onboard. I know when Improv Shmimprov has sailed as contracted entertainment, they have offered single-session guest improv workshops. The series of improv workshops we had on the transatlantic cruises this year was because Greg Triggs was onboard to teach them. If DCL ever opts to hire my improv group to work a sailing, we'd be more than happy to teach guest workshops as well. ;)
