hello,

I already got my magicbands for an upcoming trip in 19 days. Today I changed my room only to a package with dining, so guest services canceled my original ressie to make a package ressie instead. Will the bands I just got still work? I really don’t need anymore bands. :rotfl::rotfl:

They should work fine. Nothing is actually tied to the magic band itself. The magic band is basically just a way to access information on your account. As long as your magic bands are active on your account you can use it.

I thought that was the case but the CM said I would have to have someone at the resort link it to my new package ressie.

I also started blinging it for Christmas and didn’t want to start over. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Can't hurt to talk with someone when you get to the resort just to make sure. They will definitely get everything situated for you if anything needs to be done.

One of THE most often quoted lines on these boards.

Nothing good usually comes after that first half of the sentence. ;)

So true. That’s why I come here to get the real truth. ;););)

This might relate to a different situation that has come up with Disney IT in recent months. (Yet another phrase we're hearing a lot these days.) At some (most? all?) resorts, in order for a MB to successfully work *as a room key*, each individual band has to be activated at the front desk. (I usually bring 4-5 bands per person.) Unclear on what causes the problem, or if it's related to packages or room only or tickets or anything. And it seems to have no effect on using it as a park ticket and FP entry.

That would torpedo the whole online check-in concept.

I want to say, this thing happened to me too. We had a stay at POFQ and got our MBs shipped to our house. Because of Irma, we ended up adding on a 2-night stay at Pop Century to arrive before the airport closed; we added that less than 48 hrs before arrival, so obviously too late for MB shipment. My sister and I also flew separately, so I was alone at check-in (even though I did online check-in earlier I hadn't received a room number, so had to go to front desk). They were able to take the MB I had gotten originally for POFQ and scan that into the system. My sister had her blue one with her and still hadn't arrived, so they had to give me a separate (gray) one for her; they said she could come up with her previous band to scan that into the system, but we didn't bother, so she used the gray one for those 2 nights. The blue one worked for tickets and FPs, but not as a room key.

However, I also had multiple bands assigned to me-an orange AP band and a purple band thru the POFQ reservation. The orange one worked fine at POFQ as a room key even though it had never been scanned at the resort front desk... So... it could just be the luck of the draw!

Well, see, in my experience that’s exactly what’s going to make the situation hurt.

That’s not a new thing for CMs to think thy need to do.

CMs are now recycling their voodoo that they are doing.

We added a day at the beginning and end of our trip so we have 3 have MB’s each. We’re staying at the same resort the entire time and have already spoke to a CM and was told we SHOULD be able to keep the same room the entire time. They noted the account and suggested I bring it up when we first get there just to clarify the situation. My question is, will we be able to use any of the MB’s at anytime throughout the entire trip? We couldn’t turn it in to one long package because we have the dining package Su-F, sandwiched between a late afternoon Saturday arrival and early Saturday morning departure so we didn’t want to pay for the dining package for those days.
