MagicBand testing

that's a bit of a mess I think longer term. I suppose add it to the list for them to fix later. So if there are multiple MDE accounts who's shipping address do they use? I assume the person that made the reservation but dont want to assume anything with Disney IT....
The address will default to the primary guest, but can be changed to any US address.

I am so disappointed. We are arriving next Friday 10/4 to Saratoga Springs so we will not be able to participate in the magic bands and fastpass + because the hotel is not participating until the end of this month. I called to see if there was anything that can be done since we are DVC members but no luck. I wished that they thought about the DVC members when testing this. The MDE rep suggested that I move to another hotel and I told her that it is not possible and that we had this booked 11 months ago.

Has anyone be able to get the magic bands once you arrive there?

I'm a bit confused by this, as if right now the book they send you for magical express and luggage tags all go to one address...
How is this any different?
I just mail my sister and her bf their tags and magical express tickets, will do same with a magic band.

We just received our bands for my family of 4, but my FIL is the reservation holder/maker for all of us on this trip.

He received his set of 2 bands at his house, and my SIL received her set of 3 bands -- also at her house.

We (each family) were able to log in, customize, and set up shipment of the bands on our own. We also received copies of the voucher book and ME tags in the same manner - one set sent to each house.

Don't worry too much about it. I'm here now using it. A card is just as convenient. The batteries only last two years than you have to get another one.
 
Just checked the MDE site and woo hoo got to customize my Magic Bands. Our arrival is November 11th at BWV.
 
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the green exchange PAP that we got in May at the Odysessy Building (after turning in our paper PAP) has no barcode or scan box. I did try to scan anyhow, but didn't get anywhere. The ticket has to have a barcode or the square box for the scanner to work.....but thanks for thinking of me!


You still can't get this added? I have the same pass as you, I exchanged the very first day you could, at Odyssey, and have had no problems getting it to link. All I did was manually type in the number.

Don't laugh, but I got hung up on the idea that they said "12 digit number". Mine on the voucher was 17 digits, but it said 12. So I kept typing in every 12 digit combination I could think of. Finally I called Member Services, and the CM asked (fortunately not like "You idiot" like I felt), "Did you try putting in all 17 digits?" Of course I hadn't, but when I did, voila!:blush: I wasn't TOO embarrassed.

Nope still not linked up. I tried calling and the CM won't give me the time of day. Pretty much said it was a glitch and none of the exchange tickets can link......well we all know that's not true. Along with you guys, my friends have linked their exchange tickets too. I tried sending several emails under contact us, but they must've fell into the black hole of Disney IT help. I just haven't felt like calling yet again to get shot down. Yes I tried doing it manually both through the computer and through my Iphone. I tried typing in the zeros as cap O and tried putting spaces in between the groups of 4. I did sucessfully link my daughter, son in law, and both granddaughters, but they didn't have exchange tickets, they activated new PAPs at guest relations in May, so I know how it works. I also linked my husbands PAP will call voucher (certificate) with no problem. UGH.....I just hope I get to do a survery afterwards.

Are you typing it in under the are you an annual passholder? Link or in the link tickets area? If you are only doing it in the link tickets area, go to your profile and at the bottom it says are you a passholder?, click that and then enter your ticket and it should (lol) work.

Thanks for the tips, but yes, I've tried everywhere. I tried in my profile by adding a new annual pass, it just keeps telling me my number is not valid or it doesn't recognize that number. If I could just get a CM to go into the system (if it's possible) and check to see why it says my number is not valid. I did a chat with DVC this afternoon and they asked me to call to see if they can help. So I will do that tomorrow, I had to run out this afternoon. Heck I even tried to go into my husband's account and link my ticket there in his friends and family.

I'm not sure that's the case with DVC when there are piles of people coming from different states. (but i could be wrong for sure, honestly it's mostly my sister and my folks that used it so perhaps my sister ordered them and then mailed to my folks...)

If you have 8 or 12 people in a room, it seems not uncommon that there would be different groups coming from different places.

I'm not sure that's the case with DVC when there are piles of people coming from different states. (but i could be wrong for sure, honestly it's mostly my sister and my folks that used it so perhaps my sister ordered them and then mailed to my folks...)

It appears that as of right now, each reservation is getting their magic bands all mailed to one place. So if you have one reservation with 12 people, those MBs will all be mailed to one address.

You poor thing. I almost wish I could do it for you!!! LOL I mean everyone in my family exchanged their paper pass for an RFID one back in March, and at first I couldn't link them. But then eventually I was able to. But this was back in May or June. :/

Just a brief update. I finally called again. This time I called the DVC number and spoke to someone in IT. They were very helpful and spent 30 minutes trying to fix it. I felt better just getting someone to actually look at my PAP and see something wrong. He came back afterwards and got my PAP linked to my account and I THOUGHT it was all OK. I wished I had not hung up and let him transfer my husband's FP+ to my account as he offered. So I logged off and logged on as instructed, only to find out that it still says I have no valid admission...ugh....So I checked my PAP that is linked to my account and it says it expires Jan 24, 2014 (as it should), but when I clicked on additional information it says "EXPIRED June 21, 2013). So, of course, it won't let me do any FP+ because it thinks my PAP is expired. So I called again. This time the CM kept trying to get a tech, but they were busy, so was put on hold for a long time. Finally I had to hang up. To my surprise, she called me back and told me they had looked at my account and saw the strange expiration dates and opened a ticket to try to sort it out. I do feel better that I finally got someone to confirm that there is indeed someone wrong with my ticket. Earlier in the week I tried calling the regular WDW IT line and got no help. I never thought I could call member services to get help, but glad I at least got to try to fix it, even though it's still not fixed. I leave in a couple of weeks, so we'll see what happens.
